There are no good reviews in 2 years because the good doctor retired two years ago, He was a very good person and caring Doctor. The new Lady Doctor , names are not allowed on reviews, that started this Summer 2025 does as little as possible . She comes in Late and takes off early because she is on the Government dime and does not need patient retention like a Private Doctor and it shows. Her taxpayer funded salary is protected even if she does nothing . It is sad to see this kind of "Care" happening for Veterans.I have heard stories of bad care for many years from many people but this is the worst VA care I have ever seen.
Every one bs-ing me all I need to get in contact with my dads social worker can’t even do that
My fiance is a Veteran and he is a patient at this clinic. He has tried to call this clinic multiple times today 11/22/24 with questions regarding X Rays he is suppose to get. He has called multiple times and NO ONE answers the phone. NO ONE, not even the clinic manager!! THIS IS A DISGRACE!! THIS MAN SERVED THIS COUNTRY and he is not a PRIORITY!! I WOULD LEAVE NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD. The VA needs to do better!! I AM INFURIATED!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!
I have heard amazing stories of this place from others but that was not my experience today. I went to pick up medicine for a vet that was in surgery at that moment. I had the prescription and military id. At first I was told they didn’t have a pharmacy then I pointed at the pharmacy directional sign. Then I was told they didn’t have a pharmacist which I found weird for mid day at Friday. Then I asked if I was at the correct place and they said they would need her primary doctor to sign off before they could fill a prescription. Why would a primary that is not even in that town need to sign off on a prescription written by a surgeon for post op care. Looks like I’m going to solve this problem the civilian way.
I have been using the Hammond VA Clinic as my primary care facility since September 2016 and I have to say that I have been well served with my medical needs and services there. Prior to this I used the Baton Rouge VA Clinic for at least 25 + years. As a long time VA patient having experienced Veteran's Health care services now for over 30 years I rate the Hammond VA Clinic as a premium professional health care facility.
