I recently visited Mid South Sleep Diagnostic, and while my experience with the doctor was excellent, the overnight sleep facility was extremely disappointing. The doctor’s office itself was clean, well-maintained, and professional, and the doctor was thorough and courteous during my appointment. Because of that, I had high expectations for the sleep study portion. However, when I checked into the sleep facility, I was shocked at the condition of the room. It looked more like a halfway house than a medical diagnostic center. The space was not appealing, comfortable, or homey—qualities that are absolutely necessary for a patient to relax and get an accurate sleep study. I tried sitting on the edge of the bed for about 45 minutes attempting to adjust, but I could not imagine actually sleeping there overnight. The following day, I called the office to express my concerns and explain why I could not complete the study. Unfortunately, the receptionist simply responded with a brief “ok,” offering no acknowledgment, apology, or assistance. Overall, while the doctor was professional, the sleep facility environment and the lack of concern from staff were extremely discouraging. A sleep study requires a calm and comfortable setting, and the current conditions do not support that standard.
They will waste your time when scheduling calls that end up being 30+ minutes late for follow ups. The staff is nice, I guess, but when you are there to do a sleep study they are non-communicative and rude and make it seem like you are a bother to them. While I can appreciate the NP they have, the rest of the staff is severely lacking and their services are entirely too expensive to have this level of unsatisfactory service. I've decided to start all over at a new clinic just to see if I do have sleep apnea because I just dont want to deal with this staff anymore. So inconsiderate of people's time. What is the point of an appointment if you dont keep it? You charge $300 for being late or cancelling but I can't charge you $300 for being 45 minutes late to call me just to follow up? Insanity.
This is the most unprofessional and very discourteous place I have ever dealt with!! Personally I am followed by multiple doctors , this practice stands out in all ways as the worst managed practice! From the phone receptionist to others in the practice, getting an answer or appointment is beyond difficult not to mention the rudeness of the receptionist is totally unacceptable!!!
After being a patient for 2 months and also put on four different sleeping medications and also three nights of sleep study I was told by the manager that they were not running a pill Mill for anxiety and when I told her I took that as an insult she tried saying she didn't say it stay clear of this place they're all about how many sleep studies they can give you and then put you on a CPAP which I believe they must get a kick back from the company that makes the CPAC and all four sleeping medications that the nurse practitioner tried me on with 30-day supplies very last and fifth one 10-day Supply and when I inquired about it this is what I was told bye manager of the business that this is not a pill Mill I only give it two stars because of the young ladies that work the front desk they are very professional and very pleasant the word sir never came out of her mouth I am a 74 year old black man had a bit a 74 year old white man don't believe she would have treated me that way
The front desk person needs to have patience to answer the client's question. If she is too busy to answer questions, she is not well-suited for this position.
