I cannot say enough great things about Tennessee Comprehensive Lung and Sleep Center. My first appointment was with Dr. Southwell. Rather than take blood he waited until my next appointment because I had a steroid shot in my knee and he said that would throw off my blood count. No one ever mentioned that before. I also had a spirometry test the same day. We went over results and changed medication. He is working with me to get the insurance to pay for the new med because it's very expensive. I also had a sleep study and came in for the results five days later. That was yesterday. I expressed to NP Collin that I really wanted to get the CPAP ASAP because I finally met my deductible last week and only had 9 days left until the end of the year (2 are Christmas and NYE). His nurse called the medical equipment supply company for me and explained the urgent nature of my supplies request. Would you believe the CPAP and all supplies are being delivered today?! The front desk staff is always super busy but she always manages to say goodbye. I feel very welcome here and I will be recommending Tennessee Comprehensive Lung and Sleep Center to anyone who needs their services without hesitation.
Very concerning that I have a lung nodule that’s been found and was referred to Dr. Southwell by my PCP. Dr. Southwell in turn referred me to an Interventional pulmonologist to have a prompt biopsy done…here we are a week later, they still have not sent the referral over to the other doctor. I’ve called as well as a lung nodule navigator and we get placed on eternal hold. Then when they do pick up, they transfer you and the phone hangs up. This has happened every time I have tried calling this office. I’m wondering if this was their mother, sister, family member or themselves, would it then be important? Let’s keep in mind, early detection is the key to success if it’s cancer!
I started out thinking i was doing good being here and slthough this place is quite busy seemingly always i felt my care was good, until i was supposed to go back after a few months for my check up! Ive literally called a few times in way more than a few weeks trying to make a return appt that should NEVER take momths (no lie!) to do! Absolutely outrageous and left several messages even. The reception area is a joke apparently. I feel very uncared for after being tokd i had (non smoker ) pulmonary fibrosis, to say the least. Very unprofessional people that need to be replaced. I just finished telling said incompetent desk people hiw rude i felt they are and i shall try to get in elsewhere. So NOT worth this aggravation and UNCARE!!
The only reason I gave three stars, not two is because I appreciate Collin, except for that one time he kept me waiting while he had a lengthy personal conversation with his coworkers after I mentioned I had another appointment to keep. I’ve called several times and was advised someone would connect with me to address my concerns. That hasn’t happened. I’ve called five times. Each time I was told Josie would return my call. It’s apparent she is not going to give returning calls any consideration. The other staff members I've encountered are professional. I’m looking for a different practice in Hendersonville.
Friendly staff. Everytime that I have called front desk places you on hold. I believe more than one person needed up front. Watched and saw that she had to answer a busy phone and check people in...insurance, ID verification and so on. I was misled by the Nurse that attended me in her checking my insurance and stating that It covered a different service that they offer. I had my blood work done an a appointment set up the following month to start new service. Upon my arrival I was told my blood work came back OK, but my insurance would not cover the new service. What a bomber to have wasted my time and insurance on lab work. She went out of room to check my insurance coverage the month before stating it paid, after telling me that my sleep test showed mild apnea. Her being a nurse and dealing with patients daily, I guess she didn't remember my results. Nurse was very nice by the way. I was just disappointed in how insurance info was handled.
