I recieved a bill from this location and while trying to get issues fixed between them and my insurance, they sent me to collections. Fortunately I was able to catch this supposedly before it got sent to the credit companies. IF this shows up on my reports, I will make this a much bigger issue. I also was displeased with services rendered, and the staff seems to have no resources to help people calling in trying to get MONEY TO THEM. Appearantly I dont exist in the system after hopping between 4 different people on the phone, but they sure sent me to collections. TERRIBLE experience.💩
Ive been a patient of them/ dr schwab since 2015/16. The man is very nice and professional. His time with you is short, but he answers whatever questions you may have. Then the down hill came. They SOLD it to BR GENERAL . Now nobody that works there knows anything. You cant get an appointment with him to save your life( been trying since they bought the place). I been sent to see Harding. He's very sleezy in how he talks to you. Man screwed up my dosage of medicine i take, i called them. Then over the last 4 to 5 months now we've been fighting with him and his nurse that this isn't the correct dose. They claim ive been on this dosage for years thanks to br gen system. My pharmacy printed the records and they still dont believe it. All this while we found i had and beat stage 1 kidney cancer. Ive now moved on to looking for a new sleep dr.
We are required to arrive 15 minutes before appointments, but I have consistently been seen 15-30 minutes after my scheduled time. This makes scheduling anything afterward difficult. I arrived at 12:30 for a 1:00 appointment. Didn't get brought back until 1:15. I was the only person in the waiting room for the better partof 30 minutes. I don't understand why I should be on time if they never are.
Was all of a sudden sleeping 12 to 16 hrs a day and still feeling terrible. Dr Schwab treated me for insomnia. Never could make me sleep over 4 hrs on meds. Now I go back a home sleep study is ordered. I barely slept. But upon returning equipment to clinic , the tech within 10 seconds says OH YEA. I had to see Hardin for followup. He talked to me like he was a used car salesman. He tried to convince me to lie on an assessment form so insurance would pay for CPAP. He was offensive to me being treated this way. Refused. Never heard from the clinic again till recently when I messaged to ask why I was dropped. Dr Schwab is great. So was his nurse Caroline who contacted me about appointments and meds. I have nothing good to say about NP Hardin.
The Louisiana Sleep Foundation at Baton Rouge General has now rescheduled my appointment for the third time. Despite my repeated calls over three days to inform them that my narcolepsy medication would run out on Friday, my initial rescheduled appointment was for the following Tuesday. Then, on Friday afternoon, just as my medication was depleting, I received another call informing me of yet another rescheduling – this time to July 14th. The staff member I spoke with was unaware of my attempts to communicate the critical need for a prescription refill and stated that a doctor wouldn't be able to authorize it until Tuesday, as they had already left for the weekend at 2:30p Friday afternoon. This lack of foresight and communication has left me without essential medication for four days. As someone living with narcolepsy, going without my medication means I will be unable to stay awake, eat properly, or function in any meaningful way. This isn't an isolated incident, and despite previous assurances from Dr. Schwab that this would not happen again, I am facing the familiar and debilitating reality of excessive sleep. This will cause me to miss my granddaughter's birthday celebration out of state tomorrow, as well as other vital time with my family. The extended periods of immobility exacerbate my other chronic conditions, Multiple Sclerosis and Ankylosing Spondylitis, leading to stiffness, pain, and muscle cramps. It feels as though my well-being as a patient is being disregarded, especially when it inconveniences the schedules of Dr. Schwab, Dr. Hunter, and NP Delia. While they continue their lives and care for their families, I am left unable to participate in mine. It's disheartening that a prescription refill couldn't be handled promptly, suggesting a lack of concern for patients who rely on consistent access to their medication. Given the limited number of sleep specialists in this area, I feel trapped and deeply frustrated by this ongoing failure to provide adequate care."
