Absolutely loved Dr Martinolich, but have struggled with the staff from day 1. I continuously have issues getting my prescriptions due to the staff not returning messages to myself or the pharmacy regarding prior authorizations or renewals. I’ve been with the practice for several years, but have had enough and am in the process of being established with a new practice.
I would give the Drs/FNPs 5 stars, but I am not sure I would give the administrative staff even 1 star. I saw Dr. Eisenstadt for years. Great doctor. He retired and Dr. Salm took over my care. Again, great doctor. She retired. Dr. Martinolich(??sp) took over. I saw him twice, very inquisitive and seemed very concerned. We scheduled a 3rd visit. I showed up, signed in and was given some paperwork to fill out. Only after submitting the paperwork was I told that HE had retired and I would need to find a new doctor. They couldn’t reassign one because they were still looking for a replacement. They never called to let me know of his retirement so I could avoid the pleasantry of parking at UTMC. They could not have cared less when I had the audacity to ask why no one had called. MUCH later (weeks or months, I can’t recall) they did actually call me to set up an appointment with their new hire, FNP Partin. I saw him and was well pleased by his manner, curiosity and concern. He wrote a prescription for some medicine and told me that if it was effective, just call back and they would call in a refill. Sounded helpful and seemingly straightforward. I tried just that, BUT…..Enter the administrative staff again!!! I called last Thursday and left a detailed message with all the pertinent info and asked them to confirm receipt of my message and to please call in the refill. NEVER heard back from them and never heard from CVS. NOTHING. So, I called again Monday morning and left the very same message. Never heard a peep….neither did CVS. I then tried a different selection from their voicemail hell. To my shock and surprise, I was asked to leave a message for Dr. Salm (see above-she has been retired for months, if not years). I left a message but think I am more likely to be struck by lightning than receive a return call. Next, I even tried “the portal” at the suggestion of their message. BUPKIS!!! Never saw that coming, did you? Their message even provided a fax number. Who still uses fax machines? Tomorrow, I might fax my request a couple of hundred times just to see if there is anyone out there who could even fog a mirror. If my life depended on the staff for these HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, I would be a dead man. Of course, the Drs/FNPs don’t have any idea about the impenetrable wall of incompetence or stupidity or both behind which they practice. IF anyone there sees this post, please share it with the Drs/FNPs or even UTMC staff. This should be an embarrassment to everyone out there. Alas, there is no more shame.
Twice I was reschedule the days I showed up in their office. No prior calls received, took PTO's on that 2 days, just wasted my PTOs. I complained to UT Medical advocate and they are good to received my complaints. They've called the UT Sleep clinic medical office
After nearly 3 full months of constant calls and leaving messages (both for rescheduling and medication authorization staff) we finally had to drive to the facility just to reschedule an appointment that was cancelled by the facility. “We’ll call you to reschedule” turned into months of frustration and inability to speak with staff. The few times they managed to answer the phone, they still kept saying they would call back or contact the needed persons. Never happened. Even after going in person, they failed to follow up for prior authorization of needed medication. It seems the entire office staff needs to be replaced, as they are unable to complete the simple tasks of scheduling appointments or answering/returning calls, much less prioritizing authorization of necessary medication. Three months is more than enough time to work through any issues they may have had internally. There is no excuse for the inability to prioritize patient care.
The medical providers are fantastic but if you need to speak to office staff, don't bother calling. They NEVER answer the phone. Dana, who I think is the office manager, is extremely rude and unprofessional. Medical providers get 5 stars, but the office gets ZERO.
