I went in and saw the doctor in May. They told me they would call me to schedule. I hadn’t heard anything for over a month so I called in and the person on the phone said they would get me scheduled and call me back. I waited another month for a phone call. I called back today and they transferred me to someone’s voicemail that was full. I guess they don’t want to schedule people to come in for their sleep study
My husband had a sleep study done here. I attended with him. Everyone was professional and courteous. They respected our decision to wear a mask and made sure to always wash hands and use sanitizer. There were several things I was unhappy with. First, when the spouse attends, respect their decision to put the reclining chair next to the bed. There's a reason for it. Also, allow them to do things for their spouse. Such as cover them, clean the gunk out of their hair, help them to the bathroom. It's fine to do these things for single patients but it's disrespectful to the spouse when they are there. Second, when the patient has to use the bathroom at night, do NOT turn the hall lights on. Keep them dim. Brightness wakes a person thus causing them trouble falling back asleep. This defeats the purpose of a sleep study. Third, do not place patients in side by side rooms. Loud TVs, talking and other noises make it hard to sleep. Again, defeats the purpose.
This staff is so unprofessional. They call me at 8am asking if I want to change my appointment time right before a large snow storm 1-10-25. I agree. Few minutes later I get a call saying they are canceling my appointment all together and that I am no longer welcome at their facility and to seek treatment somewhere else. Apparently the nurse I spoke to at 8am while I was half asleep didn't like me and bad mouthed behind my back. I honestly barely remember the phone call. I didn't say anything weird. Just trying to make sure I understood the appointment thing bc I got woken up. Ironic how a sleep clinic can't understand a patient that has sleep problems. I never cursed, or said anything negative. Just surprised bc I got bombarded with phone calls at eight in the morning.
I was scheduled for a split night study as long as they got adequate data in time to do the second part of study. That would have worked out except it took them way too long to get me wired up for sleep due to spending extra time with another patient. I tried to be understanding about having to come back for a second study unnecessarily. But looks like now I will have to pay two hefty out of pocket portions instead of just the one. That I am not happy about at all. It seems to me they are trying to run too many studies with less staff.
Horrible. My initial consult with Dr. Higgins was a joke. He acted like he was half asleep through the appointment. I waited for the test results an extended period of time. When I called to inquire the girl giggled and said "oh, everyone was on vacation". I received several calls from the company who was going to provide the machine as they had not received the info they needed to set my machine up. I called and spoke to the office mgr who was equally unprofessional. I ended up in the hospital for an extended period of time and of course was told I had to be reevaluated to continue to qualify for the machine. As if the diagnosis was going to have changed over the course of a few months. Reluctantly I scheduled an appointment witj Mr. Higgins to be "reevaluated ". Had to reschedule for personal reasons. During that time my husband and I talked about my dissatisfaction with this office and I did not go to the appointment. I received a chastising message from one of the office staff for missing it. I blocked their number, the next day they call again, were blocked and then called from a different line. I called back and was spoken to in the same condescending, unprofessional way I've come to expect from this staff. The office staff are just so unprofessional in their manner of speaking. I advised them I had chosen another office and again was met with sarcasm. I strongly advise another sleep center. Completely dissatisfied with Mr. Higgins and most of all his staff. The only reason I gave one star is bc it was tbe only way to post a review.
