St. Vincent Medical Center Clay

I really do love the labor and delivery unit in this hospital. I delivered my last 2 babes via c section here and the staff both times was so wonderful and caring. We had a different nurse for every single shift and spent 3 days there and I have 0 complaints on any of them. The staff in the OR did an excellent job of keeping me calm and informed, the nurses held my hand and tried to accommodate all my requests within reason. This is the second hospital I've had this procedure performed at, and it would be my #1 choice everytime

My husband was admitted Monday evening. It took a while to get him admitted because the hospitalists were giving some push back on getting him admitted. The ultrasound dr informed us of this and I told him that my husband CANNOT go home, he CAN'T walk! He went back to the hospitalists to plead our case. After an hour or so of no communication, I went to the nurses' station for an update. She said they were admitting him. It would have been great if we'd gotten some kind of update instead of being kept waiting and in the dark. We were not happy on this stay, as the nurses would not answer my husband's call alerts timely. If they did answer promptly, they'd say we'll be there shortly, but they didn't come. My husband soiled his sheets several times. My husband informed them that he needed a bed pan quickly......you can guess the rest......too late! They need to have more nurses on shift, rather than one or two for the whole floor. The food was not great, temperature-wise. My husband was hospitalized at St Vincent's earlier this year, but in Riverside. Their admission time was worse than this one, but at least it was better treatment. My husband was admitted to the Clay location in 2024 and that visit was smoother than this one.

Had a great experience considering the procedure. Staff in pre/post op and also endoscopy were extremely pleasant and helpful. One nurse in particular (unfortunately I don’t remember her name. I think she was Japanese)recognized my husband from when we lived in Japan and she was going to school there. My husband was a varsity football coach at the high school on base. It truly is a small world. Anesthesia was also both pleasant and efficient. From scale of 0-10. I give everyone a 10

First I want to make it known RN Melissa Tailsey in Labor & Delivery was an answer to my prayers! God used her in such marvelous way!! She stood by me and was an advocate to me! Melissa is reaching lives and making a huge difference in mommas and I am truly truly forever grateful! She had a huge impact on mine and my babygirl life! Please please honor Melissa for doing such an outstanding job 🙏 She went above and beyond! Showed such compassionate, patient, skills and so much more! I filled out the Daisy Award and hope she is recognized for such work she does. Now there are other staff there that were kind and kept everything clean , stocked up and this hospital labor and delivery was far the best experience I've had . highly recommended!! My husband and I will definitely come back to this hospital 🙏 This will be my 3rd delivery and never had such experience like this. You guys are doing so great hiring staff and keeping up with pateints and cleanliness. Will spread the word about how God is using this hospital and staff to answer mommas prayers. It was my desire to have a home birth and I can say God used and made it happen but at this hospital all that I desired . 🥰🙌🫶

My experience here was absolutely amazing—from the moment I checked in to be induced until I was discharged yesterday. Everyone treated me, my husband, and our family with such kindness. The nurses, doctors, lactation specialists, and even the housekeepers were all wonderful. Clarissa was truly a blessing, and I’m so thankful she was my nurse. Dr. Philip and Dr Scott made sure I felt safe and at ease before my C-section, and took great care of me during the procedure. Every single person I came across was pleasant and supportive. I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to have my baby. I’m so grateful for this hospital and its staff—I can’t thank you all enough!
