The receptionist illegally ask and announced the amount I owe on other medical bills in the waiting room. This is a violation of Hippa! Do better!

I had an appointment canceled right before it was due, even though it was scheduled more than a month out. Had a very inappropriate conversation over the phone about the cancellation. People here don’t know what they’re doing so go somewhere else.

They squeezed me in for last minute appt made by my family doctor. The SAME DAY!!! I could not believe it. Same day appt with a specialist!!! Never thought I could get it in 2 weeks much less same day. I was in severe pain. I had never had a stone before so I thought I was dying. I got there was seen within 20 mins (filled out new patient paperwork). Shown to an exam room within 5 mins.. yes believe it 5 mins, Dr. Becker came in asked questions. Told him what symptoms and reason for visit. Sent me for x-ray. Came back as soon as I came back he came in to go over x-ray. I had a large kidney stone that was in an awkward place. He advised on the next step he thought was appropriate .I agreed. He was attentive, professional and explained everything in a way that was understandable. I got meds and had a surgical procedure 6 days later by Dr. Becker and his team. Look it's no fun , but it was done by a team of professional, courteous, empathic people. I just got home and feel confident that Dr Becker's team did the job right. Over my week at First Urology I had to call the office a couple times and every single time I was treated respectfully, politely, and felt assured that what I needed would be done. Ok here it is.. They followed thru EVER SINGLE TIME..and called me back..and called me back people.. if you've been in a doc office lately you know it's awful. Everyone is rude and God forbid you need a pain medication they can make you feel almost criminal. This office not once made me feel anything but safe and assured a rare find today. The reviews I read do not match my experience in any way. I would refer anyone in need of Urologist to this office. ... I hope I don't need them again, but If I do no doubt that's my Urology office. Wish they had a General Practice and a ob GYN.... LolI hope they read this.. Thank you so much..

I've been going to 1st U since 2016, when my doctor diagnosed my numerous small kidney stones, noting their small size and safe position. I was able to manage them with careful, physician-indicated diet and yearly checkups with X-rays. In November of 2019, my doctor recommended, should I opt for the procedure, a lithotripsy to vibrate at least one targeted stone into miniscule sand. I had this procedure on March 10 of this year and am returning for a COVID-delayed post-op checkup. I would definitely recommend 1st Urology for excellence of treatment and referrals. Yes, the waiting room is small; yes, the TVs are going nonstop; I don't deny for a moment that the practice is housed in an unprepossessing little building. I had my doubts, too, on my first visit. However, care comes first, and the care is very fine.

From the first appointment to the conclusion of my second procedure the doctors and staff were absolutely wonderful. It can be a scary thing dealing with possibly serious health issues. The staff here were very empathetic and understanding, even when times got overwhelming for me and I took it out many times on the nurses. They simply took it in stride and ensured that I received the best care possible, even though at times the way I acted I probably deserved to be put into my place. Thank you First Urology of Louisville. You are a great bunch of people. Keep up the good work.
