Dr. Poynter is phenomenal. Professional, informative, and crazy patient. I was an indecisive hot mess of a patient today, and he was so patient with me in reiterating options, explaining concepts, and giving me space to make what I call “big girl” decisions for my health. I felt really thankful to be his client today, & he took my unusual personality like a champ, too!
I go somewhere else now but I figured I’d share my experience. I have uc. I came here for other problems and was told I might actually have crohns and to get a colonoscopy to check for scarring. I figured to get one anyways since I needed one since I didn’t get one before I moved here. Since I got one I dealt with months of abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite. They told me I was probably going in another flare and wanted to put me on biologics and wanted to do another colonoscopy. I refused and stopped coming here. Not only that. Salaz (who I originally seen) told me I could see him again if I wanted to and the ladies at the front desk when I called told me I couldn’t since I was now seeing dr. Clossen. I went somewhere else and found out I had a cdiff infection. I feel like ephraim McDowell just tries to milk you out of whatever money you have.
Dr. Ryan Carbaugh is a legend. Been getting better, way better than I was 10 months ago. Thanks to him. I've always heard horrible things about this place, but my experience with Ryan was a debunk of all that I've heard. Don't believe a word you hear about these doctors until you actually meet them. I went in months afo thinking this was just going to be rounds of them fleecing my insurance, but every time I saw him I got very noticeably better...
Office staff is unreliable they don't return calls in a timely manner, I've had to call them after appointments to tell them they need to bill my insurance first before they mail the bill out to me, also they have canceled multiple appointments with no notice and you don't find out til you arrive. I really like my doctor but considering a new one not sure it's worth the hassle.
