I went to him for lower back pain. He was more interested in me doing a sleep study than my pain. I went to see him 3 times, with no answers, just a sleep test. So i had my family Dr refer me to another neurologist, this Dr was at SIH. And on the first appointment the new Dr sent me for MRI's. And found out I have severe spinal stenosis and a degenerative disc in the neck. And talked to Neurosurgeon directly after. So I feel Dr Alam did not give me the proper care.
If I could give ZERO STARS! I would. The staff is rude. After a year's worth of tests. It took like ten phone calls to get the appointment to get my CPAP. Long drawn out EXPENSIVE process. The first time they didn't even send the order! I had to call two different suppliers to get the right one. The staff are beyond rude and don't know how to help someone with disabilities. I'm finding a new neurologist! I won't give him another dime of my money. When I wanted to talk to a supervisor to voice my concerns they refused to put her on the line. DONT GO HERE. THEY TAKE FOREVER TO HELP YOU. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS.
I'm giving a 4 star review because the lady at the front desk was very indifferent and didn't barely say a word. I asked to use restroom and when I came out she was no where to be found. So I grabbed the paper work that was left on the clip board at the desk. I didn't have to wait long. Dr. Alam was very professional and respectful. But at least he talked to me. He got the test done and was very careful but precise. I would recommend him but not his staff.
Dr. Alam is very professional and helpful. I think he really tries to provide good care. His staff needs some help. I had a very early appointment and was waiting 15 minutes after the appointment time. I went to ask what the delay was and they told they were waiting for a computer to boot up. When I asked to reschedule they needed two weeks to reschedule. Very disappointing.
Dr. Alam seemed just fine during my visit but the staffed seemed to lack some basic office protocols and procedures...like a simple appointment reminder call. I left feeling very uniformed. I think the staff should just understand that for new patients this may be a scary experience and that the patient may be going through a life changing experience. So added care and clarity is crucial.
