High turnover, ineptitude with billing. DON’T get a doctor that has Cathy as their nurse. For the second year in a row I have been forced to get a new GP (turnover) and for the second year in a row they have tried to bill me a ridiculous amount of money because they don’t know how to code correctly. They just want your money, so they code a routine yearly checkup as something with a diagnosis so that they can bill you - and then are rude about fixing it (it took me nearly 6 months to fix last year). Unacceptable.
I can't say enough good about Family Physicians of Alton. I always get excellent care here. My visit today was phenomenal from check in, visit, and check out. Elizabeth checked me in with a pretty smile.. The medical assistant Katie Buss was very kind and sweet. She took the time to look up an old procedure I had done that couldn't be found before. This was my second visit with Tammy, and just like the first, she was very compassionate and addressed and answered all my questions. They are quick to respond when I have a question or need a med refill.
We had an appointment for over 2 months, snd took vacation days to get labs and everything done. They canceled the appointment because the doctor changed her time around. Person on the phone was rude, hateful, not accommodating or helpful in any way and refused to offer assistance with an appointment with a nurse practitioner. The doctors is in that day but they refused to move us to another time. Just removed us from the day. Requested a supervisor, but no one called back. Staff (Heather) needs a lesson in manners and courtesy. I guess looking for a new doctor! We were contacted and will be seen at the original appointment. We will give it one more try.
Dr Felders staff was friendly understanding and supportive! Very knowledgeable and interactive. I was seen at my appointed time explained options and care was administered. On my way to healing.
Have had nothing but poor service, constant turnover of doctors, and being put off or told to go to ER. We are constantly told not to use the ER as a doctor's office but then the doctors ditch you & tell you to go there. Useless practice
