My Mother was there recently after being transported from Morrell/Wilson Physical Therapy group.I have to say that the E.D. Nurses were not very welcoming. One went as far as telling my wife to not approach the Nurses desk at all, instead to use the Nurse call bell in the Exam room because other Patients treatment was being discussed openly. This was after her standing and waiting to be addressed and offered help with questions that did not need to be discussed in the presence of my elderly Mother.I’d heard of several instances where patients were failed and denied common courtesy by staff and Doctors. It was disheartening to see it in person. The only reason I gave two stars..the Doctor was very nice and very informative.
Nurses very nice. Seemed concerned. However despite bleeding for almost a month and a half and despite being diagnosed with fibroid tumors and ovarian cysts and despite a possibility of cancer, and despite coming in with immense pain, not once was I given anything for pain. I was sent home despite being dreadfully sick for a month and a half and losing lots of blood. I was sent home with the same birth control pills the last doctor at a different hospital prescribed me which I told him it has not stopped the bleeding at all. His exact words were "I can't help you with the cancer thing". The cancer thing? What? What has happened to compassionate doctors? When my mom went through this, they admitted her immediately and she ended up having a hysterectomy. She is also in remission from Hairy Cell Leukemia. They treated her with dignity and compassion. Everyone I've been dealing with everywhere has treated me like a burden, or like I'm "pill seeking" just because I need help with pain. I sometimes want to close my eyes and never open them again on this earth. I'm very tired.
I received excellent care from Dr. JAMES MOCK and staff during my ER visit. I had met this ER physician before and he is the very best. He has the patient's health care needs first. The entire staff was so warm and caring. Thank you CPRMC emergency dept.
I had a horrible experience while 40 weeks pregnant at Carolina pines. I went to the emergency room on a Saturday. I was sent home and told to call Monday for a appointment to come in and be checked inorder to get a induction date. Got a appointment for the next day at 9am by very rude staff. I got there about 8:40am to check in for the front desk staff to argue with me about insurance that lapses due to a incorrect address in the insurance companies system. A issue that I corrected prior to my appointment so the care could be back dated. Told my card was taken out of the system when it couldn't be ran the day before to see if it was active. I was still scheduled for a appointment though. Repeating what was just said to me by saying if it out of the system, I could still get the info to them. Just for this person to say no it's not out of the system. A whole situation due to a power struggle and wanting me to sit in the waiting room instead of stand. To then be escorted by security to the emergency room where I was told that the doctor would send over orders or paperwork for the induction. To sit in labor in delivery for hours, had blood work drown, filled out baby info paperwork, you know the info that goes on the birth certificate. Baby table was made up another ultrasound to see if baby was head down to have Dr. Daniel's come in and tell me that I can either come back in labor or I can have a c- section in the am. After me explaining that I'm a single mom and had to be back at work as soon as possible. I'm on a unpaid leave from work. When I started care I was okayed to have a vaginal delivery. Yes, I had to have a emergency c-section with my 3 child cause by a few complications with my care on the doctors end. My child had to be turned as well, but post c- section he was head down! No complications with my first two deliveries. Dr. Daniel's wasn't even the my OBGYN by the way! Sent home again just to have this Dr. Writing up a twisted discharge report. Attempting to defile my character and make me look like a problem and a liar! Stated that I admitted to currently smoking cigarettes, which is a lie. I stopped smoking cigarettes in my 20's. I'm 34 years old. He stated that I had complications in the 3rd trimester do to THC in my system. THC was present do to a supplement I used, but definitely no complications. My son has a strong heart beat and measuring 8 pounds, and I was told, baby looks great! No issues at all on the ultrasound. He is head down and low. For Dr. Daniel's to check me, first saying my cervix was closed. Then saying I was 1 cm when I referenced my visit on Saturday, when I was told that I was 1 1/2 cm and my contractions were indeed very mild and 10 mins apart. That is far apart so I was sent home. Also I wasn't quite 40 weeks yet according to the second estimated due date I was given at my first care appointment. Then it was stated that I told him that I work at panda express, but turned around and told the nurse that I worked overnight at MUSC. A total twist of words! When in fact I did work nights at MUSC at the beginning of my pregnancy until my 7th month, which is past tense. I am currently on a unpaid leave from my current job at panda express, which is present tense! Now I have to wait God willing until my water brakes on its own, so that I can go to a different hospital and give birth, because I wouldn't go back to this hospital if I was standing next to it and I on fire! It was also said that I only had 3 care appointments in my first trimester. When I went to appointments up to about 6mos, and stopped going due to circumstances and being charged for the ultrasounds only. By the way no one called to reschedule the missed appointment or to check on me and provide any assistance. I just keep getting reminders to pay the 2 ultrasound bills and not in the position to rack up more bills and not thinking at the time to call the insurance company, because I wasn't being charged for care or my prenatal pills when I pick them up. I DO NOT recommend Carolina pines hospital!
Our 20 year old son was having difficulty swallowing. He had already been on antibiotics for 6 days. His practitioner added steroid after no improvement around day 3. When there was still no improvement, it was a weekend, so we decided to take him to CPRMC. Everything took place systematically and quickly. He was immediately taken to triage and then straight to his room. Brandon was his nurse. He introduced himself and set his nerves at ease while simultaneously working him up. He drew blood while starting his IV, so he only had to be stuck once. Our son also had throat swabs while there and an MRI. He was admitted, and even after having all of those tests, he was there in less than 2 hours!! That is nothing short of excellence in medicine. Thank you to everyone. You run a tight well designed ship. So grateful.
