My old CPAP was recalled and I was told to get a new one. I started the journey of getting a new CPAP in April 2024 and STILL don't have the machine. I had to get a new sleep study because my last one was too old. That was May, 2024. No follow up of any kind. I asked how to actually get the new machine. Nobody knew which is just unbelievable. I was not allowed to call the Sleep Center and told they don't speak to patients. ??? I called the pulmonologist and was told she doesn't issue CPAP's and to contact the Sleep Center. Round and Round. My own primary says I have sleep apnea and should be using the stupid CPAP. AFTER many lengthy phone calls spending much time on hold I finally got someone to contact the Sleep Center for me, only to be told I now have to have an interview before I can proceed further. The first interview available was 5 weeks out by virtual call. And then supposedly they will decide if my May, 2024 sleep study is now too old and I have to do it again, or maybe some other option. I'm beginning to wonder if I should rig up a tin can and a vacuum cleaner and make my own.
Waiting for return call and results. No Trends or acceptable ranges. No readout or printouts. I was woken in middle of night and a lead wasn't attached or capturing info. Mychart notes can't even be understood by medical personnel. No options given. No neurologist to call.
I waited for months for an appointment that wasn't really all that helpful. She told me to practice good sleep hygiene and adjust my bedtime later. She did tell me she thought I did not have sleep apnea, so I suppose that's of some value. However, they seemed confused by me telling them I had issues falling asleep sometimes, and staying asleep other times - that my sleep left me groggy and was generally low-quality despite being technically asleep 5-7 hours a night. I was given no after visit notes or instructions. She told me to try CBTi but I was given no appointment for that nor a consult for it despite her telling me it would take months to start therapy. I'm trying to be fair, but I think if you're sleep is heavily disrupted like mine is, this clinic may not be a great solution. Maybe if I am patient enough then I will get some help, but it feels like it could take a year or two before I get any results. That's a lot of hard, sleep deprived days.
Doctors are good but administrative staff is complacent and unresponsive, marginally competent, and sometimes aloof and condescending. Recommend looking elsewhere for your medical needs related to sleep studies and related - this is a purchased service like any other, and the customer (patient) should pay for good customer service in addition to competent performance of the work.
Dr. Hadeh and staff have been very nice, but the system is broken! I had a sleep study done 35 days ago. They were quick to take my money (I was profitable since not covered by insurance) and not a word since. I called today and was told that it was my responsibility to call. How would I know that if I was not advised as such or advised that testing results were available? Every other appointment was planned by Cleveland Clinic. I'm still trying to get my head around someone taking your money, doing the test, and not doing the simple notification you that results are ready, and you need to make an appointment?! You've done the hard work – I just needed a call or email. Must give 3 stars due to poor customer experience. How do you make a sale and not deliver on the product?
