I went here twice. One for urgent care and had an amazing experience, the doctor I had was fast. She listened to me, isolated the problem, talked over a good care plan and sent me on my way with confidence. Another time I went was for the ENT office for my 4yr old and we were treated just as well. Every staff member I’be come in contact with is just the nicest person ever and their care is absolutely great.
Five stars to the physicians. Three stars for Phelps health ENT services. In order to receive allergy shots without my child missing first and second period of class every week, it would be great if physicians took turns for morning and afternoon shifts. Other allergy clinics begin allergy shot administration nice and early and provide shots until late afternoon to allow children get their shots before or after school when their parents get off work. No appointments for other care, just allergy shot time during the wee morning, and late afternoon hours. It’s difficult for parents to maintain employment because it’s impossible to convince an employer that they must take off work every single week to drive from Waynesville to Rolla, wait for the shot, return to Waynesville, drop off the child and then return to work, requiring a substitute or employee absence for two hours from the job site. In addition, Waynesville school district is aggressive with truancy, sending truant officers to homes and filing police reports when children are absent from school, even with Dr notes. The Phelps Health providers are kind, knowledgeable, caring, and consistent, but the physicians have children in school too. The physicians can’t get to the Clinic early enough so that other people who have kids in school can get shots before school. The physicians have to pick up their children after school, so no one else can bring their children in after school. There is insufficient opportunity before or after school /work to give allergy shots. If the Phelps health providers work only the same hours the children are in school, or that everyone else is also at work, how can we benefit from this improved health opportunity? There is a need for a physician to be available early morning (schools begins at 7:30) and into the afternoon (schools ends at 3:30). To get children to school on time and to get through the parent pick up line and finally to the doctor’s clinic in Rolla, shots available from 6:30 AM to 5:30 pm would be ideal. This is the perfect opportunity to reach out and acquire a physician who can be on site mornings/afternoons. The client base needs it!
Dr Youlo, Orthopedic surgeon, is a great doctor. He has an excellent bedside manner and explained my problem to me in great detail. He did not jump to “surgery discussion” and I really liked that. I highly recommend him to any one needing orthopedic care. Nancy A.
I've been coming here for years. We always have a great experience. Except for Tina in the walk in. Every single time she's in there. She gives attitude and has a nasty look on her face. She's always rude. When she's at the walk in. It makes us just want to walk out because she doesn't have people's best interest at heart. She is just there for a paycheck and it shows. And honestly. In a medical field as a SECRETARY you should be kind warm and welcoming. She is a very unpleasant person. And makes us want to go back to mercy like we were before Phelps came to town.
The worst experience I’ve ever had at a walk-in clinic. I checked in at 12:25 and wasn’t seen until 1:20. I understand there’s usually a wait at urgent care, but what I don’t understand is being placed in a room after seeing the nurse, then left waiting another 45 minutes for the doctor. Eventually, I stepped out to ask if I’d been forgotten, only to be met with a rude “we’re very busy” while three nurses stood at the desk. How about normalizing checking in on patients, apologizing for long wait times, and giving an update? That’s what customer service is all about. I was in excruciating pain (which I made clear, pain level 10), and to make matters worse, I later checked my email and saw that my results had already come back positive for COVID at 1:26, something they could have told me sooner. Instead, I didn’t leave until 2:20. If I could give this clinic 0/10, I would. Absolutely disgusted with the lack of care and compassion.
