I’ve heard a lot of people say don’t come to this hospital for treatment. Well yes emergency is understaffed like all hospitals and you have to wait for services but I’ll tell you they took good care of care of me After I was admitted I was taken care of in a way that was above and beyond what others have said about this hospital. The dr.’s the nurses the students even the cleaning staff are stellar . My room was penthouse suite is 719. I won’t say I hope to go back but if I did I know I’d be well taken care of care of for sure keep up the good work everyone In clouding transport Signed NYC 7th floor And this is from a Yankee Thanks Mrs Cassandra and Chasity as well as studemts

If it was possible to leave no stars , I would. My mom went By ambulance like 12am in the morning And when I get there she is sitting in the lobby in Severe pain. Didn't get called back for treatment until 5:35 am. Was there for the next shift of nurses to get a nurse who didn't even introduce herself Just came in and wrote her name on the board and that was it.And we didn't leave until 11 somthiing almost 12 hours spend at the hospital. There were people who had been Sitting in the lobby since 6:00pm Sunday Who didn't get called back until like 2:30 in the morning. People were getting very angry and kept going to the triage door. One young lady was in so much pain. She kept going to the triage door, She told the nurse she felt like she was dying. She was in so much pain The nurse told her you can't be dying. You're standing here talking to me The young lady stated this cannot be legal., The wait time is ridiculous Working efficiently and time management is everything I Don't know what has happened to patient care Patient should matter .There has got to be a way that this hospital can do better. To provide quality , safe care in a timely manner.

Pros: Some people that worked there were helpful, kind, and friendly. My mother’s hospital discharge planner, Michelle, was a literal Godsend who helped get my mom into a facility for rehab when no one else at this hospital would help her or I. Cons: My mother went there in January and was told she was having panic attacks. One doctor thought they saw a mass and another said they didn’t so she was told her breathing issues were anxiety, given Xanax, and ultimately sent home. Fast forward to April, and a giant, cancerous lung tumor was found. It also was found that my mom’s chest/lung was filling up with pleural fluid. She underwent two lung biopsies there, neither of which were able to obtain enough tissue for her to have a clear diagnosis. She ended up having to get a THIRD lung biopsy at Cape Fear Valley hospital in Fayetteville due to this. The day after she was sent home from her hospital stay in April, she went back to the ER and basically begged them to readmit her as she was scared and in grave condition. She said she would refuse to go home as she was SCARED. A psychiatrist told her that if she wouldn’t go home, he would drop her off at a homeless shelter. This is NOT okay and was elder abuse. If your loved one is in grave condition, I would NOT have them at this hospital or do whatever I could to try to get them transported to Duke, or at minimum get a second opinion elsewhere. I’ve had a lot of personal experience with both hospitals, and Duke is why I’m alive and in good health typing this.

First of all, let me tell your reviewers out there if they don’t want to spend 5 hours in the emergency room, have them take you in by ambulance. Those people get seen quicker. Also, people who complain of chest pain. I was very pleased with my husbands stay at this hospital. I heard they had just renovated a lot of the areas, And I liked the fact that it was a smaller hospital. It was our first time there. The people were friendly in the hospital, the place was clean, the nurses and Dr answered every question that we had. My husband complained that they interrupted him all through the night but every hospital is the same. They have to take blood samples, blood pressure, etc etc. Be prepared to spend at least 3-4 nights in the hospital as the samples they take have to be analyzed and some bacteria needs to grow and be identified, at least that long. I know this because I was a lab tech years ago, and I worked in a hospital.
