Came here twice one for and inducement felt so blessed to have the team I had and the c section surgery went smoothly. Recently came because I’m pregnant again and had some allergic reaction and was given a room very quickly and was helped in the best way they could. I Feel very trusting with the professionals at this establishment.
If it hadn't been my 3rd child, I would have never picked this hospital. It was just a convenient distance from my house. The (I believe, Asian) nurse in labor and delivery was very "cold" in attitude and pissed me off a few times. The guy that does the epidurals had to be called in and from what my child's father said, "strolled in casually, like he didn't have a screaming patient at 8cm dilated screaming for him to hurry up". I almost had my child without an epidural! I would have flipped out on everyone because, what's the point in the "birth plan" if they dont follow it? I also wanted to delay the cord clamping, which their seemed to be no "delay" at all! We were then moved to our room which was very cold, apparently the heat wasn't working correctly on the whole hall. Poor newborn babies were freezing! Because I know I was! They said my newborn couldnt have a bath until after 24 hrs and even then she didnt get one, it ended up being done our last day there. NURSE KELLY WAS AWESOME! But the other nurses seemed to be there to do a "job" and that was it. No compassion at all. I was held for 48 hrs which ment I couldn't leave until 11:20pm, which I had to be adamant to leave then because apparently it was inconvenient for them and the next morning would be better. At the time of discharge, the same Asian nurse from labor and delivery came in and rushed us out of room with the same cold attitude. If this was my first child I wouldn't know what to expect but it was my 3rd. CCH, DO BETTER!
Terrible in every way. Staff is wildly unprofessional, services are painfully slow, and the competence level displayed is alarmingly low. EVS worker talking to patient in waiting room using profanity--not in a confrontational way...just to describe poop. Intake staff gleefully talking about hitting their collections targets after I paid my copay at the time of service. Later in the waiting room, a domestic escalates between a member of staff and her grandchild's father. The staff member and guy scream at one another for a bit before she scampers off and he proceeds to shout his life story to the patients waiting. Police arrived on scene and de-escalated with impressive professionalism; but what's most concerning is that this doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary or remotely bothersome to anyone from the hospital. Come here for a live showing of cops, not for healthcare. Update #1: after more than three hours, I was finally taken back for a CT. I was wheeled down a hallway where at least six signs read, "Do not put anything in this hall." You'll never guess......how much crap was in that hallway--beds, stretchers, equipment, wheelchairs. There were probably two or three things for each sign asking to keep the hallway clear. Also, the CT tech had me take my pants off while the door to the CT room was wide open. I had a sheet over my legs, but still....not the kind of care one hopes to receive. Update #2: Finally got taken back to a room in the ER and was walked through the private triage space...while a patient was being triaged. I've been given the barest minimum of information and that has only happened after I've prodded. I can't imagine how terrifying health care must be for the people coming here for service who don't have a background in medicine. This is my last update, but I could honestly write a book. TLDR: stay away. Like, seriously. Take your chances.....the afterlife is probably fine.
I had a beautiful birthing experience here. The staff were amazing every step of the way. They are proactive in listening to your needs and birth plan. They are encouraging through the whole process. I loved my nurse and doctor who were there for my labor. Mrs. Melissa and Dr. Love were amazing. Thank you for the great experience. I would definitely birth here again!
I gave birth to my first baby here in October. I cannot begin to express the gratefulness I have for all of the labor and delivery staff. No matter the scares and worries throughout my pregnancy that led me to go to the er over and over, they welcomed me in with open arms and put my heart at ease. I knew when it was push time, they were the ones I would put my trust in to help us make it to the other side. They were both supportive and informative. They made sure I knew what they were doing and why, as well as gave me the choice. I've never been with more considerate doctors who cared about consent before. It was a welcome surprise to be heard, valued, and respected. Throughout pregnancy, you see and hear about all these horror stories about doctors not taking you seriously or doing things without consent, etc. Central Carolina showed me that those horror stories don't happen everywhere. They're a safe space. They gave my faith back in being able to trust doctors again.
