Slept there on Saturday night, results with my doctor on Tuesday. Not sure how much quicker anyone could expect! The Technician, Audrey, made the experience far more enjoyable than it had any right to be. All my calls have been answered or promptly returned.
Staff was good and friendly but they really need to update their furniture, the linen and most of all the mattress. The mattresswas sinking in a the middle I left with back pains and crook in my neck. They make too much money to have the furniture and comforter looking the way it did. I thought I was in a halfway house.
I must admit that I saw these reviews, as well as the 2.5 star rating after I had already set my appointment for a sleep study. I was somewhat surprised at their score, since I had no problems setting up my appointment. Furthermore, Paul (who set my appointment) was very helpful and professional. He texted me the address, so I would have it on my phone, and he provided me with an email address to contact him. Nevertheless, the 2.5 star rating (as of 10-2-23) had me thinking about whether I should consider finding another company. But unfortunately, my past experiences taught me that there was a slim chance of being able to ensure that I would do any better elsewhere, since Houston has developed an exceedingly terrible reputation for providing poor service in the medical community. So I kept the appointment, while keeping a keen eye for any "red flags," at which point I would bail. Once I arrived, as other reviews stated, the Sleep Lab guy was good, and the facilities were nice. It was a pleasant experience, and all went well. But the complaints I read about that had me concerned, was that it took forever to get the sleep study results. After I got back home from the overnight stay at the lab, I replied to Paul via email, asking if he could ensure that I got my results as quick as possible, and he said he would. And true to his word, he did exactly as he promised. I sent him the email on Friday morning, not expecting that anything could be done over the weekend. At 9:40am, Wednesday 10-11-23, Paul sent me an email stating that my sleep study had been scored, and they were waiting on the Doctor to read the report. Later that evening, he called me to advise me that everything was done, and they were sending all the documentation results to my Primary Care Physician! Sleep Study completed on Friday, and results received 3 business days later! I was blown away! So much so that, I told Paul about the poor reviews I had read, and that I was going to submit one making it clear that the past problems of Kingwood Sleep Lab were precisely that... a thing of the past! Thanks Paul! And thanks Kingwood Sleep Lab! My new go-to sleep lab of choice!
No one answers the phone or return messages. It took 4 months to get an appointment. Finally had the study on 05/31/22 and I had a $80 deductible balance which I paid during the time of the study. Months later still have not received my cpap machine. They still have not processed the claim. I have a procedure coming up and they're telling me that I have an $80 deductible balance. I called and finally spoke with someone and she said that a supervisor will call me back but still have not received a call. It seems like the lady who took the payment stole my money. They are not returning any of my messages. Please stay away from this place!!
I was evaluated 3 months ago. They promptly scheduled a CPAP fitting. After the second visit I waited one month expecting some progress. I followed up requesting the results be sent to my doctor and I also requested a copy for my own record. I received my copy by stopping in and physically attaining them. Since that time my doctor has still not received the results. The clinic was supposed to request a CPAP machine from my insurance. Now three months later when I called my insurance they had not received any requests. This clinic has problems following through. I don't know if it is lack of management or care for it's patients. But this type of treatment of patient is not acceptable. The one positive is the technician!!!! He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail! I will be filling a complaint with the parent company, The Veterans Administration, and my insurance company.
