Joke of an emergency room early morning around 12:45 am Oct 4th. This is my first experience at dayton children’s as I have an 8 month old. She spiked a 103.6 temp and was rushed to er. Not taken as an emergency. WE HAD TO ASK FOR THEM TO CHECK HER TEMP WHILE WAITING! no vitials taken while waiting to be admitted. 4 people ahead of us and they were still waiting for the people the get discharged so they could go back…. One boy had possible croup so that was potential break in hippa and if that’s the case would be nice to give him his own room right away to avoid possible exposure. The receptionist’s response was “they don’t do that in adult er” 😅 I’m highly disappointed. Friendly but not urgent. No estimate on wait and didn’t seem to really care.
If you have to get an X-ray for your kid, don't bother wasting your time here. They can't cast you here and will force you to take an ambulance to main campus. The ambulance will take hours even though it's only 20 minutes away. Oh and the ambulance is a Dayton Children's ambulance whose job is to transport between the two hospitals. Just go south on 75 and go to Cincinnati Children's.
They are always so wonderful with my daughter. She has been rushed to their ER by ambulance for her PNES seizures and I've taken her myself. I've never had a bad experience. Wonderful staff from front desk, registration, nurses, doctors, and pharmacy. Couldn't ask for better treatment.
The doctor in allergy was amazing yet again. I also loved how accommodating the hospital is if breastfeeding/nursing/pumping mothers. The little room was very nice and comfy. I was unable to snap a pic, didn’t think of it at the time since I had two kids with me.
Stopped by to have some outpatient labs completed for my two boys. The lobby was wonderfully kid-friendly and my boys made the most of the available toys and wall-mounted video games while we waited for roughly an hour. Once we got inside the staff was wonderful and engage each boy appropriately and insured they had a pleasant experience (except for maybe the blood draw...go figure). Bottom line: I would absolutely not hesitate bringing my boys back.
