Honestly for a NICU staff some of them are really rude and snobby with some ugly attitudes for no reason. Whoever the charge nurse is with the bad attitude really needs to get a new job because she clearly doesn’t like her job. I’m so glad we are almost done with this NICU journey. While some nurses have been amazing , there’s just enough charge nurses and nurses in NICU with ugly enough attitudes to ruin the entire experience on a day to day basis. Memorial hermann across the street was 10x better from the staff they have alone. I wish we never got transferred genuinely. 10/10 don’t recommend this NICU if you have an option. I’d pick memorial hermann everytime after this experience over the last month.

My son had a 3 night stay for rsv in acute care. We had the same nurse the first two days that we were here. He was in the thick of his symptoms and our nurse, Clari, provided us comfort and went out of her way in every way possible to bond with our baby and comfort him as well. Its not many times you get a nurse that touches your heart this way. Thank you Clari for helping us through the scariest experience. We will never forget you!!

I would not recommend the infectious disease clinic here. My child has been having intermittent high fevers for more than a year, and we came here for some answers since the search results are not reassuring. We left with no tests, no answers, and a fat bill for nothing. The provider didn't even bother to pull up the results of her previous blood tests. I've NEVER heard of a doctor's appointment costing over $400 for ZERO services rendered. What a SCAM.

I was referred to Texas Children’s ER directly from an urgent care visit due to concerns that my daughter may have developed a bone infection behind her ear. The urgent care physician explained that her condition was worrisome because she has a history of recurring ear infections , the current infection has persisted for over a month despite multiple courses of antibiotics and now a visible and painful lump developed behind her ear. The urgent care physician consulted with an ENT specialist, both of whom agreed that she should be evaluated at the ER and started on IV antibiotics without delay. Upon arrival, we were seen by Dr. Stephanie J. Doniger. To my surprise, she immediately dismissed the concerns. She stated that my daughter’s ear was “fine” and intended to discharge her without any treatment. Her reasoning was that there was no visible redness in the ear. She disregarded the lump entirely, minimizing it as “not that bad,” and ordered no imaging to investigate the cause of the pain and swelling. When I tried to explain our urgent care experience and ask questions, Dr. Donger responded in a manner that I found unprofessional and condescending. She made a sarcastic remark along the lines of, “It’s not like there’s something magical going on in her ear that we’re not seeing.” Up until that point, I had been calm and respectful, advocating only for my child. That comment left me feeling belittled, as though my concerns were invalid simply because I am not a physician. I acknowledge that I became visibly frustrated after that exchange and stated that if something happened to my daughter due to the lack of treatment, I would “go after the video” - by them I meant the hospital. My intent was to hold the hospital accountable legally if negligence led to harm, but I recognize my wording was poor. Instead of seeking clarification or de-escalation, Dr. Donger left the room, and the situation deteriorated further. I recognize that my demeanor may have reflected some frustration; however, rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation, the charge nurse who entered the room adopted an equally dismissive approach. She remarked that if I had spoken to urgent care in the same manner, I likely had not listened to them either. This comment was not only unprofessional and insulting, but also demonstrably false. My interaction with urgent care was both respectful and collaborative, and their providers treated my daughter’s pain with the seriousness it warranted. Eventually, I spoke with a director of nursing (possibly the CNO), who was courteous and professional. I appreciated their demeanor, but by that time the damage had already been done. I have always spoken highly of Texas Children’s Hospital, and up until this visit I had never experienced a problem. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling disrespected, dismissed, and deeply concerned about the lack of professionalism displayed by both Dr. Donger and the charge nurse. I plan to file a formal complaint with the medical board regarding Dr. Donger’s conduct, as I believe she needs to take lesson in how to communicate with patients and their families. Parents should never feel belittled or brushed off when advocating for their children.Families come to Texas Children’s with trust that they will be heard, respected, and supported. On this occasion, that trust was profoundly broken. I plan to file a formal complaint with the medical board regarding Dr. Donger’s conduct. Physicians and nurses must be reminded that parents are not adversaries—they are advocates for their children.

I had the most traumatic experience ever with son on 6/30/24! And God used Texas Children Hospital to save my boy !!! My son needed a brain operation and was transported to Legacy Tower. And from there we moved to West Tower. My son got there save, on time, and surgery went well. I am for ever thankful for this hospital and for everyone who took care of my son. We stayed at the hospital for a whole month and two weeks and they made sure we felt comfortable in every way. sorry that not everyone received the best experience as I’m reading the reviews! I pray for EVERY child to receive the best medical treatment they deserve! I pray may God use the hands of the whole medical team to heal. My son is now doing OT and has came a long way!!! I’m just so so thankful !!! All Glory to God ! This hospital provides a lot!!
