I will never understand, nor will I agree with, all these negative comments. I was dealing with an emergency, ER visit that sent me to Rex Pulmonary. They were booked out about a week and a half but called me back with a cancellation two days later. I was fortunate enough to see Dr Ahuja. I have never, and I’m surrounded by wonderful doctors, had a doctor so proactive that stayed on top of this problem since the day I met him. Constant updates on my chart, constant test, and constant care because of him. I almost think he saved my life. I have been a patient of Rex healthcare my whole life and I would not trade any of their departments or specialist for anything. I would over the top, highly recommend this practice to anyone. Especially doctor.Ahuja. THANK YOU ALL!
Scummy practice. This place is a regular doctors office/clinic. However they give you a form saying they are a "hospital" and will bill you differently. Your insurance will not cover most of it because of this and you will be left with the bill. Take my advice and go somewhere else.
I have seen Dr. Hall several times and Dr. Perez and both have taken a considerable amount of time with me and so far I could not be happier with both of them. I would agree that the front office staff could be a little more helpful and tactful but it’s hard to fill those positions with caring individuals. I currently have a health issue and spoke with the staff yesterday and I am currently waiting for them to respond back to me. They told me it could be a couple of days so didn’t happen today but hopefully tomorrow.
I have had the WORST experience with this practice. Not only have I called 25+ times since April, regarding a $900 Bill received from an appointment guaranteed not to have any hospital fees, the Practice Manager, Michelle Carol, has not called back. I have called multiple times, left multiple voicemails. The office staff refuses to speak with me. Most of the time, they do not even answer the phone. I have reported this practice to BCBS and UNC REX Patient Relations multiple times and have not received any follow ups. Luckily, I am covered under law as I made proper disclosure that I could not pay anything over the $80 copay and that if there were any charges past that, I would need to cancel the appointment. They confirmed no further charges would be given. I disclosed this twice via phone prior to the appointment and at check in and check out for the appointment. Rex Pulmonary Specialists are required by law, as a medical practice, to properly disclose any associated fees up front. I made my disclosure that I could not pay, therefore will not be liable for this $900 bill. By the way, the bill was originally $0. Then was edited over 8 times reaching a grand total of over $900. Michelle Carol, shame on you for taking advantage of someone who came to get breathing testing done and for continuously ignoring my communication. The fact that this behavior has lasted over 3 months is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Dr. A. Is excellent with what he dows. He was able to provide a med that stopped my wheezing that had been going on for years, but the office is aweful. They return calls 3 weeks later if ever. They do not respond when pharmacy have a question re: a Rx they have written and the most agitating issue is they will reschedule you 2-3 times before you finally see the doctor. I don’t think I would recommend this office.
