Same as above, No luck getting anyone from the office to call back. Original sleep appt took 5 months.
Horrible. If you enjoy insurance billing mistakes, endless voicemail, nobody returning calls and a process that drags on for years, this is the medical practice for you. This is a nightmare practice and organization. Nobody returns calls and message sent through "Mychart" go unanswered. It's been 18 months of tangling with this organization trying to get a CPAP machine replaced by insurance. Insurance plays "move the carrot" and Baylor plays "not it today." Still no results, no progress. I've logged over 40 hours of phone calls trying to get an insurance billing mistake fixed because they performed a sleep study with an expired insurance authorization. Voicemails left for the "insurance billing supervisor" and "escalation department" un-returned. They are also good at sending your name to very aggressive medical equipment companies..... that call every 2 days and ignore anything you tell them. The doctors, nurses and staff are great when you get to them. The administration deserves a seat next to the devil. I will be having a conversation with my insurer and primary care physician to identify a practice that can do it's job in months, not years.
If you want a sleep study go somewhere else. This office is disorganized and unprofessional. Getting a sleep study scheduled is a nightmare. It's been 20 days since my doctor's office first sent my referral. I called May 7 and left a voicemail. The recording says they will call in 72 business hours. This is a lie. I finally reach a human a week and a half later by calling repeatedly, but apparently the fax number my doctor's office had is indeed for the sleep center but they don't check that fax machine and I guess those faxes just disappear? I suppose someone can't contact this person and ask is this your patient? So we update the fax number and send it over. I ask the lady how best to reach them, she ignores when I mention they never called me back and she says "just call till you get someone". So I leave a voicemail the next business day saying hey they sent the referral. No returned call within 72 business hours again. So I call 8 times till I get a human. They never got the fax. I confirmed with my doctor's office twice they sent it. Baylor says send it again and I say no. I don't have months to figure this out. Please figure out if your voicemail box or fax machine is broken. Or if you're too busy just say you're not accepting new patients. I'm exhausted and could have had a sleep study completed if my doctor's office had sent the referral elsewhere. So I'm miserable and tired because your office is a mess. Do better
So I am feeling really indifferent here about this review. It has taken me quite a while to attempt to get this resolved. This all started when I was getting further along in my pregnancy and saw my doctor with Baylor Family medicine (they are awesome by the way). I was told to schedule my sleep study with this location back in May, only to be told by someone in appointments that they would not have availability until after September. My response was that is unacceptable, my baby will be born by then. So I went on a hunt to find another location, it was a mess, I found locations that would take my Medicaid but then the doctors would not. So I finally tried St Luke's and they took the Medicaid and of course the doctors do, because I knew that in May right?! SMH Well there was some confusion about my results and if they were sent to my medicine MD, or the sleep MD. So this has come full circle and here we are, back to me having to see a sleep study MD for the results. I was so frustrated the young lady over the phone gave me a canceled appointment the same week, my appointment is tomorrow. I am very positive and hopeful it will go well. All the doctors and sleep study personnel have been very pleasant with me. But there is definitely a breakdown somewhere in the whole process.
The Baylor system in general sucks. Specifically, the sleep clinic is completely inaccessible, with bookings months away. After being a patient there for 7 years, they stopped my “prescription” for supplies, even though they were the ones who pushed a set of appointments back 3 months, then another three months. I gave up not realizing they would discontinue a”prescription” for nose pillows (oh no, I might overdose). Now on the phone for 15 minutes while they figure out themselves. Done.
