If I could give 0 stars I would. Waiting 2 hours and 45 minutes from 8am-10:45 for an 8am appointment and then go back and sit another 2 hours before Dr even came in. And then another 45 minutes until we could leave. 5 and a half hours just for a surgery post op appointment. That should have been done in an hour maybe 2 max if busy. However we were the only ones in the waiting area from 8-10am. If possible find a different location or place for your child. We’re switching.

The service that we received from Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus was subpar to say the least. My son has been experiencing symptoms that his PCP and I were concerned about. He referred us to Children's hospital where we waited 5 hours to be seen and there we were completely dismissed. The next morning my son had gotten worse so I called his PCP and he told me to take him back immediately. I took him to a closer ER where they ran a bunch of tests including a blood panel, neck/chest x-ray and a CT scan. The ER doc said that it was his recommendation to have my son transferred to Children's via squad for an MRI and spinal tap. They transfered my son to Children's in the squad. The Doctors at children's were extremely dismissive, did not address our concerns, refused to run the tests that my son's PCP and the other ER doctor requested only to give him pain meds and suggest discharge. I am taking my son to another hospital immediately.

Very saddened by how this hospital is more focused on donations instead of care of their patients. They are a very greedy hospital! My daughter was having headaches that was starting to effect her vision. I went to urgent care which told me to go to main campus. They started running tests to figure out why she was having migraine like headaches and having her left eye nearly closing. After keeping her for observation upstairs, they kept us there all day long and determined she just had a really bad headache. They didn't referred to anyone. I had to try and schedule with my sons neurogist which referred her to a headache clinic. Also, her tonsils have been inflamed since march while she was been checked for her headaches, headache clinic had to do the referral for ENT. Go to the ENR appointment, he has nerve to tell myself and my daughter that it probably caused by acid reflux and to take OTC acid reflux meds and he would see her in 2 months. Her tonsils was so swollen they were touching. Called on call a day later, as this didn't help her and they tell me I havent given it time for the acid reflux medicine to work. I got a second opinion and she has since had her tonsils removed. Found out she had stones hidden. No problems since surgery. Headaches managed now. They are trying to bill me for the joke of an ENT dr as well as the ER visit and her overnight visit which shows the same charges twice!!! Don't use childrens go to dayton or Cincinnati. Since nationwide bought them, all they care about is adding more buildings and crappy care for your child!!!

Called to get my daughter scheduled for a neurology appointment and received the rudest service. My daughter has been having episodes that are concerning to myself as well as her pediatrician. The referral was sent last week, but they claimed they did not receive it. I had my pediatrician fax it over again for me. When I asked about the referral when trying to schedule, the lady very rudely spit out “well it hasn’t been processed yet if it was just sent this morning”. I asked politely how long that process takes because like I’ve stated, I am very concerned about my daughter and she again rudely spit out “24-72 hours”. When I thanked her even though she was not kind at all, she just muttered “mmhmm”. Clearly she does not have children or never had to worry about her children because if she did, she may treat concerned parents a little nicer when trying to schedule an appointment for their kid. I chose to have the referral sent here because I have heard good things. I will be having her referral sent elsewhere if that’s the kind of service this place allows. Update: 9/30/25 at 8:30am. After receiving horrible service from Columbus staff, I decided to have my daughter’s pediatrician send the referral to Dayton Children’s. Within 3 hours of the referral being sent to Dayton, I received a phone call and my daughter has an appointment scheduled. The scheduler at Dayton was much nicer and way more helpful. I don’t understand the disconnect happening with the staff in Columbus. I would recommend skipping this facility and taking your kids to Dayton if possible.

My son has spent months receiving medical treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and they provide superb medical treatment and care. The medical staff, doctors, and nurses have an excellent bedside manner, take time to answer questions, and make you feel heard. The medical team at the colorectal unit is absolutely fantastic and I feel blessed that they take the time to care for my son’s medical conditions. They are absolutely amazing.
