Mixed review here. Sleep is sooo important to overall health, and my sleep paterns could be better given the nature of my work. Plus is that it's clean modern facility overall, but there are many areas that need to be improved as reflected in all the 1 Star Reviews. It's definitely a subpar experience overall given the high quality patient care Baptist Health is known for. Minuses: 1. VERY uncomfortable bed and pillows. I was really surprised given that this is a SLEEP Study Center, it stands to reason a comfortable mattress and pillows would be a priority. Very disappointing. Worst mattress and pillows I've ever slept on. As a Wedding and Event DJ based in Miami and South Florida including the Florida Keys, but also regularly traveling to other Florida cities for destination weddings, I stay at hotels often. I know this isn't a hotel, but even other hospital beds I've slept on were much more comfortable. They should definitely consider upgrading the mattresses and pillows, or at the very least, a more cost effective foam mattress topper. Maybe mentioning to patients that they can bring their own pillow(s)? This HAS to improve. 2. Bedside Manner was indifferent/cold. Things could have been explained better about the study itself, the discharge could've been better (no one offered to clean off the adhesive from the leads they attach to you, nor suggested there's towels and soap to do it yourself), and Lisette my tech, although kind and helpful overall, could've been a bit more compassionate when I was having insomnia due to uncomfortable bed, etc. The other staff could also use improvement in this area, especially given that it's Baptist which many including me have a very favorable impression of. 3. Signage. There is no/very little/dark(unlit) signage to find the actual entrance to the sleep center. Although I'm sure the quality of the study and results will be top notch, the experience of undergoing the study needs to improve. I'm grateful to Baptist for doing this study, and the insight it will provide as to my sleep patterns, but hope they will improve the patient experience.
My husband picked up the equipment and I did it the first time and when the machine went back they said it only recorded two hours and I had to repeat the test. Again went back and picked up the machine wore it all night and when my husband took it back they told him that it did not record and apparently something went wrong with the cable that they were suppose to have installed correctly. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I am calling my insurance and making sure they do not pay.
I thought I’d provide a review on the Baptist Sleep Center. My appointment was setup within a day after the insurance approved. I was called and offered a same evening appointment which I accepted. The facility and parking was great and easy to find with the detailed instructions sent. Upon arriving and being allowed in I was greated and welcomed and they immediately took care of me and walked me to my room for the night. My Sleep Study Specialist, Julia, was amazing! From the moment I walked in she made me feel at home and explained the entire process thoroughly. The room was very clean and updated. The ambiance was comfortable and made me feel at ease. The bed is clearly not an expensive mattress and due to sanitary purposes it has to have a plastic covering beneath the fitted sheets. Do not expect the bed and pillows to be that of a 5 Star hotel or as comfortable to what you are used to at home. You receive 2 pillows (hospital grade) but can ask for more. The room temperature was nice and you can ask to make cooler warmer without having to get up. If you need a sleep test, you will not be disappointed with the Baptist Sleep Center.
Had a sleep study here, staff were great but overwhelmed. I triple confirmed through 3 separate people what the payment was since I paid out of pocket and then again at the front desk. I didn’t get my electronics on to go to bed until about 2 hours after I arrived so didn’t get the full time to try to sleep. Got a bill two months after for $900 and still no one has been able to explain what it’s for nor was I ever told about an extra $900 payment. Spoke with patient experience after a week of trying to get ahold of them and was told someone would contact me within 48 hours to resolve the issue. It’s been another week and still haven’t heard from anyone. The amount of time I’ve spent on this is absolutely ridiculous. Besides all this the staff has been very nice and do their best but the whole experience has been a disaster and disorganized. If I knew the price was the same as Bascom Palmer I would have just went there since it’s closer to me.
my experience in this sleep study facility was a plus and a minus. The employees that worked there on the day that I did my sleep study both a gentleman and a lady they were very professional and informative. I give them both a plus. Even though they told me that they would give me copies of all the forms that I signed I left and the forms were not given to me. Now the minus is for the room it was gloomy dark colored walls and the bed was terribly hard the pillows were cheap and I couldn't get comfortable I had the worst night sleep ever actually after the sleep study I had to go home and get some real rest. I've been in other sleep studies in the past never had this experience. Fyi I typically fall asleep very easily anywhere , but in this case the room and the bed and pillows were so terrible I just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep.
