Almost every experience we've had at Hedrick Medical Center has been great! I wouldn't want to judge the entire hospital by one very unprofessional E.R. nurse.
Hedrick is an absolute dump and should be avoided at all costs. The only positive experiences our family has had here was with the OB unit that was closed after Barnes Jewish Health System took over, because apparently Chillicothe needs fewer OB units than it had 30 years ago. How many children have died en route to the city because St. Luke's has abandoned the people here? At least 2 that I know of. We've had to have blood draws on our children, and they have either not drawn enough blood or ran THE WRONG TESTS 3 times, and said we need to come back for more. No thank you, maybe do your job like everyone else is expected to. We have had friends take their children to the ER for serious bleeding, and were told they don't do pediatrics and should drive to Childrens Mercy 2 hours away. Do not come here unless you need a colonoscopy, I'm pretty sure thats the only service they still provide.
Didn’t care that my leg was all one size and I couldn’t bend my knee. Told me to take some ibuprofen for pseudo gout. I don’t think they know what it is because they didn’t mention it after if it was a big damn deal at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. In Omaha they had a specific Dr that mainly deals with gout. Provided no pain relief after throwing up on staff from pain. Told me to try to relax. The absolute worst care I’ve ever had
Had an appointment with urologist in the specialty clinic. Upon arrival I checked in and was kindly excorted by staff to the registration area. After registering I was then taken to the specialty clinic where she handed them my paper work. Verna Eller at the Specialty Clinic was so kind and polite, a real joy to talk to. I sat briefly less than 1 min. before l was called into my appointment. Waiting time to see Dr. Pomeroy was just as brief. I needed a blood draw and Janet brought me over to the lab after checking me out with the specialty clinic. Kammie the lab tech was super. She got me in quickly and was very nice. I had a great experience! Whole visit took around 30 min. Would have been less, but I'm a talker.
Worst place to go to I would rather risk death than go to that hospital when I went there last year could be a little bit before that but the doctor there Krista Clark she was kind and attentive at first but then when she noticed how large of a woman I was all empathy left her face she did not look at me when I was telling her my symptoms she made sure to type as loudly as she could on her computer barely looked at me and in the middle of me telling her my symptoms she didn't even look at my face she had the audacity to ask did you ever think that it could be all in your head and then when she went to go feel on my abdomen where the mass was she literally visually gagged at the mere thought of touching my fat she ordered a test and charged $4,000 barely gave me any responses of the results and then try to pawn me off to somebody else and now her office keeps on calling me asking me to make an appointment for cancer screenings. So I will never go to that hospital again and nobody else should either because they are greedy and they have no sympathy whatsoever.
