Ascension St. Joseph-Joliet

Well, I've been in the hospital for the last 5 days, and ICU, and 1 day I kind of got a little anxious and a little bit of anxiety. And kind of acted up a little bit to a couple of nurses and sorry I did because, you know what, after I got to talking to him. And then they were great. And at first I didn't think anyone wanted to take care of anyone. You know, but people started after a while. They really came together. And there was a couple people, and they, and a couple people at night. It became really good people and knew their job. And did it very well, so I'm just saying this is Keith Boston. And I think you guys did an awesome job with me.Thanks for saving me thank you i even rolled

I arrived at St. Joes Hospital on 10/31/2025 in an ambulance. My leg was in excruciating pain. I was put in a small cold room. My lower back and left leg hurt so bad I laid on my back on the floor as that was the only way to bring down the pain. A guy came in and told me “get off the floor there’s cooties down there” I had trouble getting up and instead of giving me his hand he called for someone else to help me. I manage to get up myself as no one else came. I couldn’t sit in a chair but that’s all there was. I sat on my elbows holding myself up for two hours before I called someone for a ride to go back home. This so called hospital did NOTHING for me and I will never ever walk in there again. My sister called an ambulance later that day and requested Silver Cross. I had a smooth ride and once I got there the ball started rolling and I left there feeling like I had real help. Thank you Silver Cross!

The lack of nurse availability was ridiculous. During my stay, 1 nurse, and 1 cna were all I had for availability and assistance. That clearly is not enough for proper Healthcare. It took my nurse up to 30 min to get to me when I needed assistance. Luckily I wasn't dieing. I'm not blaming the nurse, I'm blaming management. Hire more nurses. The lack of nurses is clearly a detriment to your service to all patients. So stop worrying about your bottomline, and hire more nurses. My family has been getting service from St Joe's for the last 20 years and this is the worst experience. The nurses need more help.

I know this hospital doesn’t always have the best reputation, but my experience in the Labor and Delivery department was absolutely phenomenal. The staff worked together seamlessly to make sure I had a safe and smooth delivery. They all were very pleasant individuals. During my stay, they also caught a heart issue I had been ignoring for years and quickly transferred me to the cardiology department. There, I met Abeer, Rachel, and Irma — three incredible employees who made my experience so comforting and positive. I truly appreciate the care and attention I received from everyone.

Zero stars!!! Avoid!!! Waited 1 hour and 30 minutes just for registration, then one hour just to wait to be called for blood test. No one in front of me! They are just chilling! I fasted for the test. Feeling terrible. How you can treat humans like that? Just do your job!
