As soon as you walk in, the front desk staff is welcoming and personable. Michael is a great Physician's Assistant! He asks good questions, and answers all of mine. I'm glad this has been my sleep center for over a decade!
I've been going to the Sleep Center for treatment since 2017. My original doctor and later PA were great. At one point, I was coming in once a year or so for a follow up and my doctor would write my scripts for one year. But the new staff wants you to come in every other month to write the same scripts because they want to charge for the office visits. Plus there were countless of times I would run out of a medication and they would be slow to send the refill in to the pharmacy and I would end up losing sleep for missing dosages. I was in there last month for a follow up and I practically had to beg the doctor to extend my follow up visits to every six months and he was supposed to write new scripts enough refills for six months. He is now no longer with the practice and I just found out he wrote the script for only one refill and the staff is insisting I must come in for a follow-up in order to get a new script. I'm never going back there. If you prefer being held hostage to the medication scripts and paying office visit fees unnecessarily every other month, the Sleep Center is for you. I strongly advise you go elsewhere.
I'm basing the rating on the new system for ordering supplies. There is no human contact; all automated. The only way to contact is via email or by leaving a message and hoping someone will call you back. I'm currently waiting for someone to contact me regarding a new machine. My interaction with the P.A was great as was the office staff. The new ordering system for supplies, not so much.
The person that performed my sleep study was professional, diligent, and knowledgeable. The person that met with me during my follow-up appointment was thorough with their explanation of the results and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction (I wish I could remember both of their names). The person who issued my C-pap machine, Candida, was also very concise with explaining my responsibilities regarding use and maintenance of the machine. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Center for Sleep Medicine if a procedure like this is needed.
Overall staff is welcoming and nice. This was an initial visit for a sleep therapist at the request of the sleep specialist after only having a consult with them. There was a miscommunication with the time written on appointment card versus what was in the system for my appointment time. I arrive 15 minutes early for my appointment as my time written was earlier than actual in the system. I patiently waited and observed a vendor come in and offer to come back as this specific clinician was in session with another patient. They told him to wait - which would be cutting into my time as the staff told him “it would be 5-10 minutes” until she was done with that patient. Total disregard for my appointment time and without letting them know hey there is another patient but come back when there is a period of no appointments or a lunch break. It was 5 minutes before my appointment start time after already waiting 45 minutes and I noticed they were going to let vendor cut into my appointment time. I immediately got up and let the desk know I couldn’t wait over an hour for this appointment and then letting the vendor have some of my time with the specialist. I rescheduled but no longer have interest. The referral for this in house sleep therapist felt like a money grab and I will definitely be watching if I get billed for this very unprofessional and low tier customer service appointment just waiting to be seen and having my appointment totally disregarded.
