On May 12, 2025, was admitted to The Bellevue Hospital for a left total hip joint replacement, and was discharged on the 13th. My experiences with the *entire* staff of Bellevue Hospital were nothing but positive, from beginning to end--from the greeter I met upon entering, who pointed me in the right direction, all the way to the daytime room nurse (Sara H.), who even wheeled me outside to my waiting ride home. Everyone was excellent. Everyone. The 2nd Floor Surgery nurse (Patty) was professional and friendly, relating that she had had a hip replaced and is glad she did, which was nice to know. My night nurse, the therapy team, and even the room service people (who brought my food so quickly) were all friendly, attentive, and professional. I should have written down the names of everyone who did their jobs so well, to give them the credit they are due. My surgeon, Dr. Dylan Mathews of The Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio, apparently did a great job, since my recovery is way beyond my expectations as I write this. I can't think of one single aspect of my experience with The Bellevue Hospital that I was not happy with. I don't understand some of these negative reviews. It just goes to show: some people complain about everything.

If I could give it no stars I would. I have delivered 2 children in this hospital and never had issues. Loved it actually. Today I had hands down the worst experience in the ER. Dr. Pey came into the room without even examining me and offering me numbers to other physicians so he wouldn’t have to do his job. The nurse who checks you in both out side the doors and inside the doors are hands down the rudest nurses I’ve ever had. Do not recommend.

I want to say that I appreciate all nurses who were ready and prepared. DR Fazio for his excellent care. Would recommend him greatly to anyone. But I want to give a shout out to a special nurse in the birthing center. EVA. this nurse was calm, gentle, caring and attentive to my daughter before, during and after my daughter gave birth. She was considerate of my daughter's needs and wants. And her soft voice gave my daughter a sense of calmness thru this. To me, it made the whole experience more relaxing and eased the aniexties of everyone. God bless her for helping my daughter thru her birthing experience and may others follow in her footsteps to be as wonderful and loving as she is. Thank you EVA!

One star for the nurses and the intake staff simply because they were decent, otherwise insanely horrible experience. I cannot believe a hospital is operating this way. I expressed my concerns and that I felt faint and dizzy and the doctor mocked me and said I’m perfectly healthy and there’s no reason I should feel that way when I am diagnosed with Addison disease and Behçet’s disease. They desperately need bedside manner improvements and learn about being patient focused. I likely will be calling ombudsman and patient advocate as well. Clean up your act Bellevue hospital you’re dealing with human beings not emotionless robots!

I just had the worst, least hands on experience at The Bellevue Hospital that Ive ever had there! I went in with symptoms of cellulitis (which I've had before so the symptoms were familiar) and left having never had any of the nurses (or doctor) glove up and touch the area to see if it were warm to the touch or draw a line around the area to see how much worse it gets over the next few days or any other steps I've seen them do in the past...I told them this is reoccurring and the triage nurse said the doctor might possibly refer me to an infectious wound doctor. When the doctor came in there was no mention of it so I asked the discharge nurse about it and she said "I should ask my primary care doctor about that". When I spoke with the doctor I told him that I don't have a PCP because I have new insurance and need to find a new one because the doctor I had doesn't accept my new insurance. Yet in my discharge papers I was referred to the doctor I can no longer see!! I think the thing that really bothered me was my blood pressure (the second time they ran it, I didn't see the first time) was 164/108.and they showed little to no concern! I am very disappointed to say the least. I know that it is common practice to start on oral antibiotics and see if in makes a dent before continuing on to the next treatment so we will see. I really just wanted to get antibiotics started and nip it in the bud so I guess I got what I went for just never felt so uncared for to be honest. Do better TBH.
