I came to this hospital on November 22, 2025 with severe right flank pain. The registration staff and triage nurse were timely, efficient, and competent. The provider who saw me, Geoffrey Scott, NP, was caring, compassionate, competent, and excellent. I was treated in a caring, Compassionate, efficient, timely and competent manner. The emergency department staff should be commended for their excellent care!
My 96 year old mother was on the 6th floor of the hospital for the last 4 days! Everyone was so kind and patient with my mom. We were able to stay with her because she was afraid to stay by herself. Thank you! Danielle, Jenn, Jonathan, Alice, Deep and Megan
I was in the ER last night and left feeling genuinely moved by the staff. The level of patience, compassion, and professionalism I witnessed was extraordinary. There were several patients in the ER who were struggling, some dealing with addiction, some intoxicated, and some being openly unkind to the staff. Even when people were disrespectful, the nurses, ER techs, doctors, and security handled the situation with the utmost professionalism and respect. A couple individuals had to be asked to leave, yet the staff still spoke to them in a calm, caring manner that I honestly didn’t expect. What stood out to me most was how this team treated everyone with dignity, even in the toughest moments. They didn’t judge. They didn’t rush. They cared. The compassion they showed toward those battling addiction or alcohol issues was something I wish more people could witness. Even though I was there because I wasn’t feeling well myself, watching how this staff carried themselves made a lasting impression. Their empathy and professionalism were unprecedented, and it reminded me how powerful kindness can be, especially in an emergency setting where emotions run high. Thank you to every nurse, ER tech, doctor, and security staff member who worked last night. Your grace, patience, and humanity did not go unnoticed. I’m truly grateful. Oak Park is lucky to have such individuals that handle delicate, emergency situations with professionalism and tenacity.
Hello, I wanted to express my concern regarding this visit. It seems like at other hospitals the triage process helps lower wait time, but not here. The triage nurse should be able to get urine, draw blood, start some diagnostic testing. I want to leave but scared because I dont feel well but not as bad as the man who proceeded to throw up for an hour straight in front of reception. The lady clearly told the security guard she was not here to be treated, legs hurt, just want to rest. She then asked for change to get chips, then left amd came back with Wendys and still did not check to be seen. The bathrooms at the highway truck stop are cleaner. How do you have an unsanitary unstocked bathroom in a hospital? There should be regular audits and monthly goals to improve this system. I am writing trying to take my mind off of this. I see why people drive hours to suburbs that do not use being next to Chicago as an excuse to not have a better managed hospital system. I already notified patient relations. No need for auto response.
The doctor i dealt with didnt seem to give a shit about nothing but getting me in and out. I was in a car crash and had whiplash but for some odd reason they wouldn't even test to see if I had concussion. Not to mention they didnt give me water because I had a test coming up... about 2 HOURS later came back and said YOUR GOOD TO GO. All that time I could've had water. Maybe I just got paired with a bad nurse. Another one I spoke to was a total sweetheart. Theres more I can share but I doubt they'll even read this. Not my first horrible experience here.
