This hospital is absolutely trash. I was supposed to get blood work done and they sent me to the main hospital and when I got to the main hospital, they had me wait up until the very last minute of when the blood work center was about to close and then call me back just to tell me that the bloodwork center is closed and they can’t even schedule me. The lady could see the time when I got up there. She knew. Gonna close she shouldn’t have even had me wait. She should’ve just told me to come back another time. I’m so over this hospital and their staff members constantly mess up. They don’t know what they’re doing.

The absolute worst place for any kind of medical needs. The staff and nurses have no idea on what diabetic dietary needs are. Constantly giving sugary drinks and items for a clear liquid diet. Nurse's are uncaring and argumentative. The billing department doesn't listen to anything they are told on the phone, they will not mail out a detailed bill or give any itemization when it is requested. I have repeatedly asked for it and am just given lip service that it will be mailed out. I thought your billing was to be transparent!!! They will not call me back when I also ask for it. Horrible place, horrible people, horrible service

The woman with long burgundy braids who is currently working the front desk of Surgery Check in & Surgery waiting room on floor 2 at 11/25/25 at 5:18pm, rudely yelled at me for being on my phone in the waiting room. I didn’t notice any signs up saying no phone calls or else I wouldn’t have been on my phone. Right after she is taking personal phone calls herself from behind the desk & talking on her phone whispering. She also allowed other visitors to talk on their phone in the waiting room & didn’t say anything to them either. I never had any interaction with her & I don’t understand why she was so aggressive towards me & singled me out & nobody else.

I had an appointment with Dr O Elatter in the Ortho Dept on November 3 2025 to read the results of my MRI for my foot and ankle. Ive had many years of pain and injections. Doctor came in and said, " We have good news and bad news". Was told that I had damaged and thinning ligaments. And that there was NOTHING they could do. Not sure what the "good news" was. As he was telling me this he was sitting in my face to the point that I was uncomfortable. I was telling him about the pain and that my bp was very high from the pain. I also told him I had to go to the er the previous night and told him my bp was 175/115. He didnt seem that concerned. He talked over me the entire visit. Told me he was a surgeon and they trust the science. The "science" says that surgery is needed for the repair. As he continued to talk over me and be in my face I asked him if he could move back as he was too close, he looked at me as if he was confused or didnt know what I was saying. I then told him that he was crowding me, again refused to move back. He didnt move until my husband had to tell him to move that he did. We then HAD to ask for a walking boot to help with stability of my ankle, which is something that he did not offer. Told me that all they could do was "mask" the symptoms. Very unprofessional! I spoke to the nurse that came in after the doctor left and explained what happened, and all she did was make excuses for his actions. She also was very unprofessional! I'm not so sure what would of happened if my husband was not with me. A few days later I called Patient Advocate, the lady that took my call had a demeanor that was concerning. I have not received a call from them about this situation. I am taking the necessary precautions that I need to take since the hospital or the Orth department doesn't seem to concerned about how I was treated or the action of Dr Elattar. I felt threatened by the doctor. And again, not sure what would of happened if my husband was not with me. The ratings of this hospital are poor. I would not come to UTMC Hospital, or the Orthopedic Drpartment. Advocate for yourself. There is NO reason that anyone should receive this kind of care from a medical professional.

First of all, I’d like to thank Dr. Tang for pressing to get my surgery done in enough time. I had an hiatal Hernia surgery done two days ago my body is taking a while to go back to normal normal enough for me to go home, but I was deathly afraid of staying here overnight due to the bad reviews however, being here with such a length time on the sixth floor, I have had the best conversations the Best care and the most considerate team working day and night to make sure that I can walk eat drink and make sure I can go home on time again for Gastro as a surgeon Dr. Tang is the best. He’s very informative and let you know how everything’s is going every step of the way his assistant Brianna is also amazing and will make sure that you’re at your appointment and all times And she’s also very considerate towards me as to my time window. I had in place to be able and available to have the surgery Then the day of surgery, the surgical team was super informative, kind and walked me through every part of what was going to happen then getting put into a room where the first friendly face that I saw was Vincent on the sixth floor, and then followed by Damon, Merlin, Liz Faith, and The physical therapy team to help me get walking calling to get a good meal plan. They brought me up just what I wanted. I have been in six different states in this wonderful United States of America and this is the best care I’ve received. I’ve received in a hospital all my life I strongly suggest you ask a lot of questions so you feel comfortable and then give them a chance in your care the next time you’re ready to get a surgery I can tell you my experience has been phenomenal. Thanks again to Merlin Damon and Vincent for all the that I received and the laugh’s five stars.💪🏽👍🤓😷🤕 Ok I’m Back! I had some issues Swallowing after my surgery, Dr Tang was kind and attentive, My Nurses and Aides were so kind and helpful. Day one Daphne and Issy we warm and welcoming emotionally held my hand as I was transferred from another facility. Day Two Woke up to a familiar Face one of the Aides Rissa cane in with a big smile. So far so good! I’ll post my lat review when I’m discharged.
