There are some hospitals on the face of this earth where you have to wait a long time or it’s really crowded and busy or the quality of the staff is low. However, Firelands hospital is the perfect balance of well-trained and friendly staff, the environs are relatively quiet and there are reasonably short wait times. We get in and out. The phlebotomists get us in one competent stick (not the painful black bruising of ten or more — when somebody’s in training and fails to tell you — at the Cleveland clinic because they have a staffing shortage). What we lack in an abundance of specialists, we make up for as a destination of pretty darned good generalists to take care of 99% of your medical needs near home in a rather pleasant fashion. I feel blessed to have them here.
family put a probate order on me thinking me not eating was a mental illness, i told the ER I'm seeing a doctor and going to a specialist. they put me in the psyche ward without ever noticing my "narrowed throat" and said "just eat what you can." i could only swallow about 3 bites of a meal and found out my nurse sister wanted me there because that is "my delusion" (I have it audio recorded) I felt like I was being tortured and found out I have a hernia pushing stomach acid into my throat, and lost about $900 from overtime I was counting on
If you have nothing to do for 4-6 hours and want to wait 3 hours regardless of how busy they are this is the place to go. Don’t get why they think you came to an EMERGENCY ROOM to wait all day. Seems to defeat the purpose. Doctors are questionable and try to just collect money and push you out the door to someone else. Save your time and just stay home and let nature take its course. Bc going there you’ll just get sicker and misdiagnosed
CEO is too busy buying other hospitals and opening new buildings he wont focus on the problems his own hospital already has. Something a simple as updating the website to reflect accurate hours of operation for outpatient services, especially when you decide to be closed an additional day, could've saved me OVER AN HOUR of back amd forth driving just to never get my labs drawn, because by the time registration was done chatting with her friend I was already running late for work. People plan accordingly and then they disregard it with no care for the members of the community. That is one very small example of their decline as a hospital, it just happened to be what occurred this very morning.
The lady who worked the ER desk at around 12 AM should be fired. She cut me off while I was asking a simple question and started yelling at me. While I was coping with a loved one's sudden acute medical issue. It sent me over the edge and into a mental break down and my issue was left unresolved. I'm still in shock over it. Don't even bother coming here if you want caring staff.
