Just avoid. You will die of old age (or sleep apnea) long before you ever get treatment here. Seriously, I shudder to think of what this place's body count is. If you think the Duke name means anything, based on my experience here, it doesn't. I scheduled an appointment in 2023 for a study, the first available. In early July in 2024 when I was finally able to have my sleep test appointment I did a test. Weeks later, I finally got my results. Shocker, I have sleep apnea. Now, MONTHS later, I'm still unable to get anyone to call me back or make any sort of appointment to get a CPAP or any equipment whatsoever. I've called at least half a dozen times over the past several weeks and here I am nearly in October with no hope of assistance. I did finally get through today and they agreed to give me an appointment in JUNE of 2025. That's right, over a 2 year turnaround for a test and a prescription that would take roughly a WEEK in any civilized area. Seriously, just go to DC or Atlanta for medical care. I had held out high hopes that Duke wouldn't be trash like everything else in NC because of it's name... but apparently the name only applies to the school (if indeed the reputation is still earned which I doubt). As it is I'm going to just travel to a less inbred state (where I should note I was able to get an appointment next week). Don't suffer with sleep apnea like I have for well over a year waiting on these folks. You're never getting any help here, though will continue to bill you random little fees (for example this month I got charged $9, no clue why, haven't had any procedures or visits since early July).

Thanks for all of those who posted reviews. I need a new sleep study, but had a bad experience with my mother-in-law's sleep study at Duke about five years ago..it literally took a year turn around before getting her results back so she could get her Auto-PAP treatment! Six months for her PSG study and another 6 months for her CPAP Titration study. Being a past owner of a diagnostic sleep lab in Garner, it's unacceptable! At the longest, a test result should take two days at best, and one week at worst. I don't know who is overseeing or managing their sleep lab, but it's always been this bad! They seriously need to hire someone who actually knows how to operate a sleep lab and puts their patients health as top priority! So, my search for a lab I can count on and trust continues!

To preface, I never visited the Duke Sleep Center, so this review is based on my attempt to make an appointment after a referral from my doctor. I was referred to Duke Sleep Center by my doctor's office in February 2023. I called the sleep center numerous times to follow-up on my referral and, if my call was answered, I was told that they never received it (I left multiple messages and never received a call back). I spoke to my doctor's office on multiple occasions to ask when they sent the referral and if they could send it again (I even received a specific fax number from the Sleep Center) and every time I followed up with the Sleep Center, they still claimed they never received the referral. I've heard from multiple people, including other doctor's offices, that it is a nightmare to try and get into the Sleep Center. I understand if they are busy, but the lack of follow-up and general lack of concern or interest in referrals is completely unacceptable. I wouldn't have even minded being told that my appointment wouldn't be for a few months, but to never receive a return phone call is really disappointing. I ended up using a home sleep test in Sep 2023 that was provided by a different doctor and the process was very simple. Home sleep tests don't generally provide as much data as an in-person sleep center, but I felt I didn't have a choice. So, while I've never been to the Duke Sleep Center, I would caution anyone expecting to visit for a sleep study to be prepared for months of frustration. It's really a shame since the reviews from people who've attended appear to be good overall. I guess I'll never know.

The new sleep lab is wonderful! The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are like a nice hotel. Of course the test itself (and the EEG glue) isn't fun but that's par for the course. Any of the reviews before February 2023 are of the temporary hospital location or the old location at the Millennium Hotel.

Great experience my first sleep study. Tina was my technician and help her. Tina and staff did a amazing job. The room was very up to date and the bed was very comfortable. I will work for family and friends to the millennium hotel a.k.a. Duke Sleep Study which is on the fourth floor.
