Went to this office almost a year ago at this point on referral from the endo in the same building. I was told I would get an at home sleep tracker and they’d notify me where to pick it up, but I never heard anything back. I even called and stopped by there to check in and I was only told “I’ll put it in the notes”
I had an appointment scheduled for 3:20 after driving over an hour to get here! I could not find the building, called in because I was lost no one from the main office answered someone from a call center did who could not help me! Got there after a hour + of waiting on hold combined with a supervisor who had to help direct me in because no gps could find this place. They asked if I wanted to reschedule but I respectfully declined. Would not recommend!
This has to be one of the worst experience I have ever had. I have been a patient at EVMS since I was a 10 years old. My dad work there; since the merge with ODU customer services have been the worst. I been calling to schedule an appt so I can have my prescription refill so I can get my supplies for my sleep apnea machine. My machine is discontinued and I need a new one; I been calling to schedule an appt for three weeks now. I have been unsuccessful getting through; I finally get through after three weeks of speaking to an automated system only for it to hang up on. I was speaking to the lady; she schedule my appt. We hung up the call with the expectations that everything was good to go. Only for me to call back thirty mins later to see if I can make a change in the time; she told me that she canceled my appt. I then asked why; and she said for insurance reasons; I asked her when was I going to be notified; she then told me it was not there responsibility to notify me. I tried to ignore that comment and give her my updated insurance information. She was very nasty and rude; she made a comment "ya'll people" I asked her who is ya'll people? When I said that she said I don't have to schedule your appt. and hung up on me. I called back three times and was unsuccessful in speaking to someone. This is the worst customer services I experienced in a very long time.
Nathaniel Gordon no good... Please stay away from this place. This Nathaniel Gordon so called sleep doctor is so unprofessional. I felt criticized the entire time during my visit. It's really frustrating when seeking help doesn't feel supportive. Please don't go here! Seek another specialist hat might provide a more positive and helpful experience. Never going back here. I'm finding another specialist... complete waste of my time.
Beware of Maria Winn. I'm writing this review for my husband who is highly discouraged with this practice and the way this particular nurse spoke to him. Out of frustration, we are resorting to this review for some sort of satisfaction. If nothing else, we can at least share our story with others thinking about using this service provider. Let me start by saying, Maria Winn is NOT a doctor, she is an FNP. She was rude and unprofessional when handling a matter for his sleep study. My husband was not able to use the equipment that was recommended and when his consultation started he was told there were other available options. When he called to explain that he could not use the machine (CPAP) she literally yelled at him over the phone telling him this was not something she could help him with. He reminded her that she had told him of alternative methods for his sleep apnea BEFORE he started the study and wanted to know what to do. He asked what it was that she COULD DO to help him? And, basically she didn't have an answer for this . She did not want to be bothered. It is too bad we didn't ask more questions about this practice before we went to do this study. A co-worker had similar problems with Ms. Winn and we thought it may have been an isolated incident. Obviously, not the case. We do understand there is more than one facitlity that provides this service and we fell short of doing our own due diligence. Clearly stated, look for a practice that provides accurate information to their patients and full disclosure . It's the most important thing you should seek. In addition to getting the correct information up front it is also important to have a staff that is willing to take responsibilty for treating all their patients with dignity and respect . In our opinion this office fell short and we are disapointed. Hopefully if you are reading this you will not make the same mistakes. The doctors (or in this case the nurse practicioner) misrepresented the facts and then later decided that it was outside her rhelm of authority. I honestly believe that not all people should be in the medical field. You are held to a higher standard and should be ashamed of the level of service --or lack of excellence that you provided. Remember, it's the patients that pay your wages and earning it comes with providing stellar service!
