Extremely frustrated with our experience at CHKD Newport News, Our newborn has now endured the state screening heel stick 2 times because the staff failed to follow proper procedure. At the last visit, they took nearly 30 DROPS OF BLOOD from a 4 Day Old Baby and put in on a vial even though the state test must be collected on a special filter paper card which typically takes 4-5 drops. My fiancé and I repeatedly asked if they were performing the correct test and were assured everything was fine, only to be told later it was not done right. This incompetence has caused unnecessary pain for our baby and stress for our new family. CHKD needs to ensure their staff are properly trained in newborn screening so other families don't go through this. For us, we don't trust this company with our child and we better not get a bill for that day. Thanks.

The staff here are so wonderful. Had to bring my daughter in on Christmas Eve. All of the nurses were so kind to her and made her feel comfortable. I’m so thankful to have a place like CHKD to be able to take my sick child and ease my worries.

Dr. Lamb and his Nursing Assistant were both Great! Their bedside manner were professional, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The wait time was excellent, we hardly waited and most importantly, he provided useful, professional and informative advice! I am very satisfied with our visit for my daughters ankle and knee injury. He also suggested an ankle brace and took the time to do the fitting and lace it for her⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Thank you both!! This is exactly how an office visit should be!

Terrible experience! I came into the urgent care at 6pm due to my daughter having a fever of 104.1. Explaining that to them, they had me wait 2 1/2 hours until I was called back for vitals and was told to wait again for a room. After an hour of waiting again, I was called back to a room. The nurse came in for 2 minutes, never introduced herself because she put us in a room and left without warning. She never came back to check on my daughter or give us an update on what was happening. I waited for 2 hours before I decided to leave because it was past closing time at this point an no one was even on the floor to assist with anything if I had a question. Ridiculous!

100% recommend. My son was seen for problems related to asthma and a few weeks later my daughter was seen for an ear infection. Clear and easy to understand diagnosis and treatments explained .Both times received great care from wonderful and friendly staff. My son's visit took about 2 and a half hours , due to breathing treatments. My daughter's visit was 1 hour start to finish. The CHKD website makes it easy to save your spot online. I was seen by Dr. Bleznak both visits and can't say enough good things about her. She's awesome.
