I absolutely love CHKD. My son has been going here since he was born, and Dr Whiteside is absolutely amazing. He treats my son like his own child and I feel like he always looks out for our best interest. He takes time and listens to my concerns and is just an incredible pediatrician. We love him!

I recently visited this clinic for my daughter’s appointment and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to the customer service I encountered at the front desk. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a clerk who seemed disinterested in assisting me. Despite my polite attempts to engage her, I felt that my questions were met with reluctance. A particular exchange raised my concern when the clerk inquired about my daughter’s relationship to me and requested her phone number. I found this request inappropriate for a six-year-old, which led to further misunderstandings. Regrettably, the clerk misinterpreted my frustration and claimed that I had used inappropriate language, which was not the case. Fortunately, the supervisor stepped in and addressed my concerns with professionalism and empathy, providing the clarity and support I needed. I appreciate her intervention, as it ensured that my daughter received the care she required. I hope that the clinic can improve its customer service approach, as a more welcoming environment would greatly enhance the experience for families seeking care. Thank you for your attention to this matter. First Edit: we’ve visited the offices of CHKD and we can honestly say that there’s a difference. Upon arrival we were greeted attentively and with respect. Five stars for the change. The medical care continues to be superb, no doubt about that. Please keep it up!

My daughter saw Dr. William K. Roache we were very pleased! Because surgery is a big deal I am so grateful he did not jump straight to surgery and choose a more conservative option first.  We left feeling well taken care of by the entire team. They were friendly, the office was clean, the wait wasn't long, and we left feeling hopeful for an amazing recovery.

My experience in this place was bad, my daughter was diagnosed with lead in the blood and that is fatal in babies and then they never called to tell me about the treatment, then I took the girl again and they told me that she no longer had lead in her blood, that the diagnosis was wrong and they never called me to tell me that if I don't take her I won't notice. They are very bad, that caused emotional damage to the family, we were all worried about that disease, even I as a mother cried with worry and then they tell me that she no longer had anything, don't be like that, please don't play with the patients, be more aware. and take care of the children who come in urgently.

Me and my wife just had a bundle of joy on March 22nd and I was worried about a good Pediatrician. CHKD was recommended by Sentara Leigh Hospital and was a great choice. The administration to get my daughter setup was fast and very professional. They were very polite and ensured we were enrolled. The doctors for the first 2 visits of her life have been great. They are very helpful and found a doctor we want to stay with while our daughter grows. The wait is never longer than 10 minutes. We absolutely recommend CHKD
