Receptionist failed to check me in properly, took over 90 minutes to get it corrected all the while 3 different employees scolded me for not checking in and telling me it was my fault... when I DID CHECK IN, and it was their employee who messed up. Unacceptable patient interaction.
Showed up for my 6:50AM at 6:25AM, doors do not open until 6:30AM waited till 6:35 AM, sat in the lobby until 7:10AM, then had to cancel my appointment to get to my job after waiting almost 20 minutes after. Have had nothing but issues with the Cleveland Clinic since Septemeber.
A dehumanizing experience for sure. You first walk in and it's like an airport where you're immediately told to go to a kiosk and check yourself in despite the fact that you've prechecked and done everything they want only to have go through all that nonsense again. But worse is when I was brought in only to be told they could only look at one thing because it was a 10 minute appointment only. I walked out as it was a waste of my time and money. When I scheduled the appointment, I told the schedular that I needed a doctor (skin) because I had a bad spot of concern. O.k. so that's what they scheduled me for...one spot and with a PA. I was not asked if there were other concerns. I'm 62 years old and a new patient stating I have a skin issue. Why in the world would you limit the exam to just one spot without looking further at the patient to see if there is another problem? Why would you ever schedule a 10 minute appointment for anything? This is not the first negative experience I've had with the Cleveland Clinic system. My spouse and I moved to Akron from out of state. We heard good things about Cleveland Clinic which was part of the draw to come here. We will not stay. We are looking to move elsewhere. I have lived in many places throughout the country and have never dealt with a worse medical system. It's impersonal and dehumanizing and spends way to much time and money on forcing patients to do their work for them rather than investing in their own human resources. Cleveland Clinic seems less interested in patient care and more interested in patient money.
Ive been going here to my primary doc for the past 17 years. Today pissed me off. They had some random lady who barely spoke English triage me in a new space on the East side of the building. She didnt take my temperature or put the finger thing on while taking my BP, yet she reported readings for the two measurements that she didn't do. She also had no personality or bedside manner. I consider this to be an extra step that was largely worthless.
Doctor Sovel was nice and listened to my health concerns. All experiences with members off staff were pleasant too. For a person that never goes to the doctors, the whole experience went well!
