Went with my husband for his initial visit with Faith. She was great! Very informative. Felt positive her care was going to help!
It’s a rabbit hole. Once you start, they rack you in not able to have sympathy for any of your concerns. They just pass over any questions you have. Also a bit to rude for me.
Great staff and Dr. Smeader listened to my concerns regarding symptoms I experienced, which she was spot-on with her suspicions I’ve suffered with for over a decade: that I have obstructive sleep apnea. Although the home sleep study confirmed I have a mild case of it, I suspect I still have a more moderate case and need a hospital sleep study, where more can be detected than what a home version is unable to do. Was told insurance will refuse to do another one, regardless of my insistence that retesting is necessary, especially if I need my CPAP adjusted.
The room was nightmare worthy! Nobody follows up or is available to answer questions following their over priced in home and in lab sleep testing. DO NOT RECOMMEND. All for profit, they do not care about you.
All the stars in this review are for the wonderful staff. If I could only rate the staff, they would get five stars. I had a sleep study here at the Bronson sleep lab (not the take home version) and the two staff members who helped me were both so very wonderful. They were understanding, patient, kind and warm. They did their very best to make sure I was as comfortable as possible (though that's pretty difficult during a sleep study), both physically and mentally, and they were very respectful when placing all the wires and things on me. Now the main reason for my review and the lack of stars is to talk about the sleep study room. I was told over the phone it would be like a little hotel room, so I expected it to at least be a little comfortable. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but I figured a place who's whole purpose was for patients to fall asleep would put some effort into making the place comfortable, especially when people will need to be wrapped up in so many wires it may be impossible to sleep anyways. But no. The bed was very hard (it felt like a thin mattress topper on a table), the pillows were flat and made of that plastic or plastic-like material that is very noisy, and all they had for blankets were sheets. In winter. In Michigan!!! I had to call someone in to my room twice through the night to ask for more blankets, and all they could do was pile more sheets on me (the nurse/lab tech person was very apologetic despite the fact that it was Bronson's fault, not theirs). There was also something rattling in the ceiling, and the sound coming from their fan/heating system was very uneven (it kept pulsing) and distracting. There was also no free side table for me to set my glasses, water bottle, or phone, so they had to share the bed with me because I couldn't reach them if I set them on the floor due to all the wires I was hooked up to. So yeah, even if you don't consider all the wires stuck all over you and all the cords you are tangled it, it was NOT comfortable, and it would have been extremely hard to fall asleep even when not hooked up to anything. Which really is not ideal when trying to treat people who already have issues sleeping. I'm pretty sure I only got around half an hour of sleep (despite taking sleep meds to try and help) but I'm still waiting on my results as they said it should take 6-8 weeks as they are very backed up. It's been like that for a long time with Bronson though. When I made my appointment I had a 6 month wait, and when I had to reschedule it was a 6 month wait again. So don't expect things to get done or scheduled quickly, but they are doing the best they can. TLDR: Horribly uncomfortable bed and room. Absolutely wonderful and caring staff. Very long wait times to schedule appointments and get test results.
