Christmas overnight stay. I had the unfortunate medical stay at the hospital Christmas night. I was admitted to the 3rd floor. While there were a million other "better things" that I could have wanted to be doing I have to say that my admitting team was absolutely amazing. Specifically Emily and Makayla. They were a ray of sunshine in such a dreaded time for me. Out of all of the interactions I had during my stay those 2 were the absolute best. They went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Alec in the emergency room was absolutely amazing as well. I am so glad that I didn't hesitate and I went to get checked out even though it was the last thing I wanted to be doing. Almost everyone was professional and courteous but the 3 mentioned were just amazing with the best attitude, the biggest smiles and made me feel like I was their only patient. Thank you
An amazing, compassionate team of people that are truly dedicated to helping others. I was seen on 11/11/2025 at around 2 am for pain due to an internal abscess. The receptionist was kind and understanding of how much pain I was in. Within 5 minutes of sitting in the waiting room, they took me back, gave me a bed, checked my vitals, etc. The doctors and nurses moved quickly and efficiently to make sure all my needs were being met. They even gave me a ct scan, which was something other hospitals didn't even consider doing. Within hours, I was properly admitted into the hospital. The nurses, doctors and surgeons there were also very considerate and gentle given my circumstances. Everyone was an absolute delight to work with while I recieved care and I'm so, so forever grateful of the effort and kindness everyone there showed me. They saved my life. Thank you.
Excellent in every way. The doctors nurses and staff were wonderful and so patient. I had a test there recently and l felt like l was in a 5 star hotel. Try the Clinic and you will See the difference. After a 4 hour wait they still Did not give good treatment. Doctor refused to talk to my daughter. I was alone. Good luck unless you try metro
THE SCIENCE OF HEALTH, THE ART OF COMPASSION I was seen at St John Westshore ED on 9/9/2025 at 5am with massive kidney stone pain and earlier seen on 8/17/2025 at Kettering Health in Troy, OH. I cannot express the gratitude of the compassionate care I received as soon as I walked into the door. The receptionist was very sweet and kind. She understood kidney stones. The wait time was about 3 minutes until I was put into an exam room for a UA. I think I had 3 nurses, an intern and a supervising DR. They were all amazing. I do many Google Reviews and have not done one for a hospital. I have had stones since 2017, UH EMH treated me like a drug seeker and did not meet the standards of patient respect; and lacked compassionate care. The staff at UH SJMC made me comfortable and help take the pain edge off. They were very personable and friendly. It was great to be there and getting to know the healthcare staff. The radiologist assistant was very kind and informative throughout the CT with Contrast process. I really wish I had known everyone's names because they all deserve special shout outs. Many times the caring and compassionate staff don't hear the good they do each and every day. When I came back to the exam room the Toradol was doing it's job and the Doc I think his name was Dr. Bahhur informed me that my stone hasn't moved. It sucked to hear that. I wish I could get rid of this stone. Nonetheless, he and the staff were super phenomenal. I hope they get my 5 star survey that SJMC sent via email and celebrate their wins in the ED. I know patients that come in are crabby, cantankerous, and just want treated. And when we are in severe pain we might not be the friendliest patients. Hats off to the staff for what they do everyday!! I was in the ED for almost 3 hours and I cannot thank them enough for being the sweetest, kindest, compassionate medical staff I have ever been graced with. In the opening of my review for those reading is the motto of UH Hospitals. I can say with the upmost honesty as all my reviews are, the ED staff have surpassed their motto: The Science of Health, the Art of Compassion!!
I cannot praise the midwifery team and the entire labor and delivery unit at this hospital enough. The attention and care I received was absolutely incredible. Not only did I feel so safe with the team caring for me during labor and delivery, but every single nurse that cared for me following delivery made me smile and taught me something new every single day. I am so incredibly grateful for my experience with these amazing women.
