My son needed a sleep study. They schedule kids early because of earlier bed times and kids being more sensitive to the testing and wires and set up. 1st study, we were given a time of 7:30. It was confirmed, but the staff did not communicate and when we arrived, no one was there. They did show up for the normal adult shift, and we were told that the scheduler didn't say that the appointment was supposed to be earlier. When i showed them the email with confirmed time ... crickets. Scheduler blamed the tech. Tech blamed the scheduler. The test was stressful and the night was rough. We unfortunately needed a second test after results of the first. Again, kid scheduled. Scheduler says "they know it's a kid." They show up on time this time. Yay. Tech says, "we didn't know it was a child." They don't have the right equipment. We need to reschedule. The level of incompetence is infuriating, meanwhile my poor kid suffers the consequences as we seek the proper care. Just terrible. They should be ashamed.
Stafford, VA location: This was my first sleep study and I was already uncomfortable about the entire process but: The staff member was nice and friendly, as well as the lady I contacted in the Woodbridge office! The facility was filthy, old, run down, no security, no locked doors, no cameras, nothing to make you feel safe for a sleep study! The bed looked like a toddler made it, old wrinkled bedding, bed skirt laying on the floor not tucked in became a serious trip hazard when getting in and out of bed. Wrinkled and worn. The room was dirty, side table scratched up and top dirty. I wiped down the tv remote and it was dirty, gross! I was ready to leave at this point and was glad I had my own blankets and a towel with me. I laid them on the bed, I did not open the bed for fear of what the sheets would look like! I kept my pants and socks on! This was worse the the motel 6 in the worst neighborhood downtown. It all went even farther down hill when I had to go to the bathroom, which is down the hall. (pictures) There were 2 filthy rugs on the bathroom floor, full of used tape, used tissue and more. I kicked them to the corner since they were another trip hazard and the toilet seat cover looked like it had come out of the trash can. I was horrified! The trash was over flowing and the floor was like a boys locker room disgusting! I rinsed the bugs out of the sink and was able to get hot water to wash my hands, but the trash was overflowing already. I was in shock that any company would be willing to allow a patient to come into a filthy place to SLEEP? Horrible, shocking, filthy place! The only saving grace was the attendant was friendly and managed to get me wired up. I did not see her wash her hands before applying the wires! I had trouble going to sleep from all the chatting in the hall way. Sounded like a high school hall way! Once over I took another look at the paper work that was emailed me! There is no professional logo identifying the company, this paperwork looked fake and lack of company information and contact number made it that much more suspicious! All in all TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, NOT PROFESSIONAL. Health Department needs to be notified!
I made the appointment over the phone due to a referral from my doc. The person I spoke with to make my appointment was nice and went through several options with me. AT NO POINT did she or anyone else tell me that there was a $250 missed appointment fee. I missed the appointment and started getting bills for $250 from them. I decided I didn't need their testing. I signed no documentation agreeing to pay $250 for missing an appointment and there was nothing informing me of this charge beforehand. EDIT after reply: Which means at the time of the appointment, I never agreed to pay $250 if I missed the appointment. The information you gave me was AFTER I made the appointment. Calling me 3 times and not mentioning the missed appointment fee is irrelevant for this conversation.
The staff at MedPrime are professional, courteous and attentive. Chiná went above and beyond to expedite my home device when an error occurred at my doctors office. She even followed up with an email to keep me apprised of the status, all of which was not her responsibility to fix! She put me at ease by lending an ear and stepping in to remedy the situation. Kudos to her and the other staff at MedPrime who took great care of me when I completed my sleep studies!
I had a sleep study done a few weeks ago at the Stafford, VA location. The technician was great and explained everything very well. He was kind and understanding and answered all my questions. My complaint is with the facility itself. It is in an older medical office building and the bed is literally set up in an exam room. No attempt has been made here to make you feel like your are in a comfortable sleep environment. It's just a plain room with plain walls and a tv with just a few local channels. The bed was fine until I tried to roll over and there was such a dent in the springs that I felt like I was rolling uphill. It really needs needs a better mattress. Then there was the night cleaning crew that was cleaning the office upstairs in the rooms above me. They were vacuuming and talking loudly and the walls in the building are very thin. This went on for quite a while. Again, the technician was great but the building, room, and bed, not good at all. My advice is don't have them book you in the Stafford location. They need to do much better in making it an acceptable, comfortable sleep environment.
