I had two separate sleep studies done at the Oaklawn Sleep center - both times I was hooked up to the usual array and assortment of wires that are typically associated with sleep studies, my second study including the utilization of a CPAP machine. I want to dispel some of the more negative reviews for this facility and potentially encourage others to receive a sleep study of their own, if needed. Firstly, the facility was very clean - I found myself being surprised at how spacious the individual rooms were. There were multiple options for lighting and air flow in the room for your comfort levels, even a television if you're someone who prefers to have some white noise on to fall asleep. The beds are large and comfortable enough to the point where you can spread out and get cozy. The faculty likely wouldn't bat an eye if you wanted to bring comfort items from home, a blanket, pillow, plushie, lighting, etc. While I typically find it very difficult to sleep away from my family and home, I still felt safe and comfortable both times I had a sleep study performed. Secondly, from the moment you walk in the door, the staff is very inviting and friendly. A nice and calm environment since you're typically scheduled in the evening and want to wind down to rest soon. Both of my technicians were very patient with any questions or concerns I had and were very knowledgeable about the procedure and types of CPAP machine/masks that would work best for me or what my insurance would be willing to supply versus purchasing replacement parts or pieces via Amazon. I was able to select wake-up times for both of my studies, whether you want to wake up as early as possible or if you'd like to be awoken a little earlier than normal to have a shower and attempt to wash some of the wire goop from your hair, haha. My only note to others based on my own experiences - my first study I was placed in one of the first rooms so throughout the night I was hearing other people checking in, or hearing staff just have general conversation. While it wasn't rowdy by any means, if you are a light sleeper I would try and suggest ahead of time that you get a room further down the hallway to mitigate some of that general noise. With my second study I was placed quite a bit further down the hall which did help me to fall asleep - but at the same point, I was also utilizing a CPAP machine and had received the best and most restful sleep I've had in ages. Truth be told, while I'm waiting on my insurance to approve a machine for me, I have not had a restful night of sleep since that study. I would highly recommend the Oaklawn Sleep Center should you be somebody like me who regularly struggles with restful sleep, breathing, or movements that leave you feeling exhausted when you awake in the morning.

Very friendly and professional staff. Clean and comfortable room. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly staff member. We went into the room, and she explained everything in detail and made sure I was comfortable. If you are nervous about it. There is nothing to worry about. They will do everything to make you comfortable and answer all your questions. The room is set up like a small hotel room.

I wrote a review a month ago to let people know how well I was treated by staff and how clean the place was. I gave them 5 stars. And today I called them to inform them that I did not get the C PAP machine and I've called several times with in a month to find out when they can set up the appointment to pick up the machine and to learn how to adjust and run the machine. They said my insurance hasn't o.k. it yet. I call insurance. They say yes we approved last month March 6th. So I called again told them that infact they did approve. So I call again thinking they will call up the the supply place at the hospital themselves so maybe they could get me the appointment so I can get the machine. This lady was so very rude ! I did not act mad when I called , but she said to me in so rude of a way, she told me that's not anything to do with her, call Steve at the hospital ! I tried explaining that I was hoping they could speed the process up for me? She was still very rude. So now I call Steve and he says " oh I'm behind cause I just got back from vacation. I'll call ya when I play catch up! I can't sleep and I'm having serious health issues because I can't sleep more then 1 to 2hrs.a night.
