Lisa in the Physician and Medical Staff Credentialing Department went above and beyond to help with a very serious problem with one of the staff hospitalists. Jessica W. the nursing supervisor also went above and beyond trying to find this doctor to get resolve as did Sarah B the day before. Those three ladies took ownership trying to solve a problem and be helpful and kind - in this day and age that is very rare at such a large hospital. The Chief of Staff got involved as well. So hopefully we will get something accomplished now that 4 employees of UH had to beg one doctor to do their job. With thanks and admiration - Mike C

I’ve unfortunately had very many experiences with them and without getting into detail they are by far the best hands down the best hospital in my area besides Cleveland clinic. Cleveland clinic will always be #1. However, this hospital right here will always be a very close second. Geauga medical center is the very reason my grandmother is still alive today and is also the reason I’m still alive today. They will always be my first choice if possible. When medically possible that is. Thank you Geauga Medical Center. ❤️🙏🏻🥺🥹

Most of the staff was very friendly. Despite 2 power outages from a storm that went through a couple days ago the staff still worked very quickly. They make sure you're well-informed and answer your questions ❓. I understand that I was the final patient and it was Friday but they could have a little bit more patience for concerned relatives. The property around the hospital is very well kept up and made to look non hospital 🏥 like , it looks more like you expect a hotel or park entrance to be.

Was Not Impressed! I took my family member to this hospital over the summer for a hip fracture, and the overall experience was very disappointing. She was placed in a bed in the hallway, and although a nurse said she would be given pain medication, it was forgotten. Later, staff attempted to perform a test that would have caused significant pain without the medication. I had to step in and advocate for her to receive it before the test was completed. Documentation in the ER was also poor — several important details and events were never properly recorded. During her stay, my family member experienced multiple health emergencies, including a blood transfusion, several AFib episodes, and pneumonia. Despite this, the family was never notified — even though she had authorized communication and her family’s contact information was on file. When I raised this concern with the patient advocate, I was told the hospital typically does not reach out to family members unless there is an emergency. These certainly seemed like emergencies to me. She also made several requests for assistance that were never followed up on, even after staff said they would return. For example, when she was discharged and required ambulance transport, she had to pack her own belongings despite being told that staff would assist. Overall, the staff often seemed reluctant or inconvenienced to help patients. The food was also disappointing — very basic and unappetizing, even by hospital standards. If you must take a loved one to this hospital — especially compared to TriPoint, which I found even worse — be prepared to advocate strongly and monitor their care closely. I was also not impressed with the hospital’s patient advocate.

Spent a Thursday in the Trauma Center accomp Aging a patient receiving care after ansuto accident. It was a first visit for both of us. Staff were friendly and compassionate. Not at all rushed. They listened and answered questions. The care was professional and efficient. Pharmacies brought prescription to room before discharge. No complaints at all. So why not five stars? The facility was showing it's age. Very few amenities to fill the long hours. There was no "call button" to summon aid if needed.
