The Neurology Center for Sleep Disorders

The doctors here are all great, but communicating with the doctors via their front desk staff has been so frustrating. They disabled messaging via the portal a year or two ago, so now every request has to be a phone call. That would be fine except messages are not transcribed accurately, leading the doctors to answer different questions than the ones asked and requiring multiple calls back — each one resulting in the same issue. For example, I asked whether I would be considered high risk for complications from Covid so that I could determine whether I would be eligible to receive a Covid vaccine and the response I got back was that the Covid vaccines are not high risk. That took 3 calls over as many days to straighten out. Then I asked whether I might benefit from taking a magnesium supplement and, if so, which type. The rep who called me back couldn’t pronounce the name of the supplement, so now I’m waiting for another call to know for sure. I also asked to have a prescription mailed to me or sent to me through the patient portal, but somehow the doctor ended up sending it directly to the pharmacy where it was filled without my knowledge. After being a patient here for about 10 years, my next call will be to get my patient records sent to my new neurologist. Fingers crossed I won’t have to make as many calls to complete that task!

Dr. Herzfeld is wonderful! She actually LISTENS to her patients, hears what they're saying, and responds appropriately. She is never dismissive and makes me feel like she truly cares. When I was having symptoms while traveling abroad, she took the time to do a telehealth visit with me during my layover since I was about to board a 9-hour flight. None of my other specialist would have done that. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Herzfeld if you need a neurologist in the DC area.

My mom and I love our consultations with Annise Claude. She is meticulous, thorough and just lovely to meet with-we never feel rushed or like we are in a long line of patients. She is great at explaining everything to us and getting mom's care speedily on track. She really listens and her suggestions are tailored to our concerns and so helpful! It is amazing to feel we have a clear understanding of what's going on and what to do next, when dealing with cognitive issues can feel murky and confusing for both patients and caretakers. We don't feel helpless with her on our side!

I’ve Been a patient of Dr. Haeri for a year now. She is absolutely amazing. She’s one of the few doctors who truly let you speak freely and fully express your concerns. She takes her time, answers every question thoughtfully, and makes sure you never leave with any doubt. An exceptionally efficient physician with a wonderful presence overall.
