My wife passed away October 26th 2025 due to complications after surgery due to their incompetence. She had brain cancer and possibly due to the chemo her colon perferated! She was there around 8 days and on a vent for well over 6 days. They cut her belly open to remove a portion of her colon and small intestine. They placed a coloscopy bag which the screwed up and released her to a Nursing Home without giving all her medical records to them. With that the Nursing Home had no clue what they were getting into. They did not know she had mirsa in the incision which they left open upon on dismissal! They broke the Hippa law by not informing me her husband that she had it! She told my sister who was not on that Hippa list which was wrong! She never should have been released from the Hospital if that's what you want to call it! She passed away Oct. 26th at approximately 5:30 pm. This never should have happened! Indiana State Board of Health needs to know about this. My name is Doug Vaught and I'm livid!
I took my wife for blood test. They were severely short staffed in the lab. We waited for over an hour for the blood draw. The person performing the draw was unable to get a vain, a second person was able to get a vain. As a result all told they had to poke her four times and caused significant bruising.
Our first visit to Memorial was a blessing. We will definitely be back to this hospital if we need care in the future. From the receptionist, to each and every nurse, anesthesiologist, the surgeon, treated us so kindly and respectfully. May God bless you all for caring about your patients, and doing your job with excellence!
My mom is currently a patient here. Has been since April 26. I got here on 04/26 and never left until yesterday. Of all the different nurses she has had-3 have been wonderful and caring. With zero doctors! Only by the grace of God do we still have her with us. No thanks to any doctor in that building! Don't let your loved ones go here!
⭐️ Would Not Recommend I recently had a hospital visit due to severe dehydration and slight kidney damage, and unfortunately, my experience with the care team was highly disappointing. The main doctor was dry and uncaring, showing little compassion or effort to communicate effectively. The radiology team was rude and unclear with instructions, which led to skewed test results. The only truly compassionate staff were the side nurses and the hematologist who drew my blood—without them, this experience would have been even worse. It’s frustrating to see how much the quality of care has declined in 2024/2025 compared to 2021-2023. The level of compassion and attentiveness just isn’t there anymore. Until Deaconess fully integrates and (hopefully) improves its training, I wouldn’t recommend seeking care here unless absolutely necessary.
