Worse experience ever!!! It’s bad enough that I was nervous about the sleep study but it got worse when they claimed I wasn’t on the schedule. So once I showed all my proof the lady seemed like she had an attitude. After an hour of waiting I get put in a room that was so dusty it set my asthma off, I complained but apparently this is the only room available (yeah okay). So the same lady comes back and tells me to sit in the chair while she puts all these wires on me, I was okay until she started putting goop in my hair. Now if I’m not mistaken aren’t nurses (or whatever she’s supposed to be) supposed to let you know step by step what things are supposed to do? Make you feel comfortable? Yeah, I got none of that!! So I toss and turn all night and then in the morning she takes all the wires off me and tell me to come out when I’m ready. I do just that and they buzz me out. There was no “do you have any questions”, “the results will come back in so many days” or “have a great day”. Nothing!! The worse!!
My nurse, don’t know her name, was very friendly and informative. I did my sleep last night and was in room 1. Didn’t get a chance to say thank you to her
Dover's Wellspan Sleep Center (WSC-D): I highly recommend WSC in Dover PA. I found the night shift staff very friendly and personable. They were very informative about what was happening and going to happen. There were separate bathroom and shower facilities in the room. The bed was very comfortable and found the right pillow that was comfortable. I found this to be a very pleasant experience. Thank you.
No bathroom or private changing area (away from camera) in the room. I prefer a cooler temperature for sleeping and the thermostat was not adjustable. I didn't find the bed or pillows to be comfortable and got very little sleep. The tech who was putting on the wires answered all of my questions, however he didn't mind ripping out my hair along with the sensor pads when the study was finished. Once all of the wires were off, he told me to get changed and leave then just left me to wander the empty halls looking for the way out. Overall - not a good experience and I wouldn't go back to this location if I needed another sleep study in the future.
Kudos (and lots of M&Ms and Hershey bars!) to the night shift at Dover's Wellspan Sleep Center. They are patient, compassionate and (how do they stay awake all night?!?!?) fabulous... even after I destroyed the TV (punched a bunch of random buttons on the remote while it was pointed the wrong way... they got it back on) and called them a gazillion times because the CPAP of the hour was trying to strangle me. Well set up rooms, noise machine (I use "surf" at home), TV (I had no idea there were that many channels...), ginormous bathroom, and little niceties like a bottle of water or extra blankies. Great staff. I just cannot sleep with things strapped to my face (I feel like a refugee from "Alien"). Carry on sleep staff!
