I took my daughter here for a sleep study. The facility was awful! The air conditioner was so loud it kept waking my daughter up. The only suggestion from the staffs suggestion was to turn it off in June in TN! There is a "cot" for parents with children under the age of 18. Sleeping on the floor would have been more comfortable. The matress desperately needs to be replaced and they provide one small pillow and one light blanket. We would have gotten a better night sleep at a motel 6 next to a busy freeway. We got in at 7 and I thought about walking out at 10 pm with my 2 year old it was so bad.
I took my son to see Dr. Lana today. I was fully expecting to be treated like I was crazy or incompetent but I actually got the exact opposite. She gave us resources and an actual plan for us and her communication to both me and my 3 year old was wonderful. Her staff today was so great and loving. I'm actually excited that she listened and we have a great care plan to cover all of our basis for him. He's finally getting the help he deserves. I'm so happy Dr. Lana and her staff are part of his care team.
I’m not sure what the other reviews are about. Communism? That’s off the charts insane talk. Yes, scheduling and dr office can be on 2 different pages, but nothing a step across the hall and asking the nurse to straighten out didn’t fix in about 2 minutes. Complete misunderstanding and sure not worth a bad review. Nothing about getting to CPAP treatment is easy, but they made it easy as they could for me. Dr McGuirk was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain all my options and hear my issues. He was oh so helpful dealing with someone that has severe claustrophobia and deviated symptom with nerve damage. It required patience in getting me to a system I could use successfully and he stuck with it. So I’m going against these other reviews and saying they were great with me.
Nobody knows the price of anything here. It's the closest thing to Communism in the USA. That didn't work out for the USSR, why is Vanderbilt trying that here?
We are very happy with the care we receive from the doctor, however it is terribly difficult to get through to the office. My daughter had labs and I had to call twice over the course of 2 weeks to get the results and her start her new medication. The doctor told us later that she had put in for the nurse to call us with the results 2 days after they were drawn. There is no explanation for the delay. On another appointment the doctor wanted us to follow up in 2 months. Her schedulers had left for the day and she was to have them call me to make the appointment. After waiting a week I called to make it. They wanted me to wait 3 months even though the doctor had instructed 2. The lack of professionalism is very discouraging.
