At home sleep test was difficult to get set-up. Receptionist seemed like she didn’t want to be bothered with my questions. Showed me where to drop off the test once it was completed. Told me nothing about how to adjust the straps for the device or how to set it up, I’m extremely disappointed and am hoping I can at least get my co-pay money back since I was unable to preform the test.
Never got to get my wife into the building for her appointment as they keep canceling them the day before and rescheduling them months later. Supposed to be seen in March. Cancelled because a staff member was going on vacation (you would think that would have been known). Pushed the appointment out until June. Called and rescheduled because of lack of staff. Third try was in August and I get a call the day of the appointment to cancel as they had a tech call off work. I have to schedule my time off from work around getting my wife there so every time they do this I lose my days pay. So now we are al the way into the new year with a January appointment now. At this point I can't see how any of them would do a good job even if they showed up.
I don’t usually write reviews but i believe that credit is due when you can tell that someone is there for their job and not just a paycheck by their performance. I had my 7 year old daughter there on the 16th. This was the first time for both of us dealing with anything Sleep Study related. Heather did an amazing job explaining everything to not only me but my daughter as well and the process of it all. She did what she could to make us feel comfortable and at ease. I was afraid my daughter would be late for school the next day and wasn’t sure what time we would be released but Heather did an outstanding job with every question my daughter and i threw at her and she assured us that we would be out in time for my daughter to make it to school. My daughter did indeed get to school on time and when i got home that evening from work she actually wanted to go back and see Heather and sleep there again. Thank you Heather for everything you do! From 1 healthcare worker to another, my daughter and i appreciate you!
My wife has been here twice with no headway. The rooms apparently have paper thin walls and the staff doesn't have the wherewithal to take that into consideration while conversing. The doctor doesn't seem to know what they are doing as they got her in at 8, hooked her up to the tens of wires, and then put pressure on her to be asleep by a certain time or else the study is pointless. How about "STUDYING" someone's natural sleep, not putting unnecessary pressure to "perform" for you? The frustration and discouragement my wife now has from this incompetent team is beyond upsetting. Imagine having a sleep disorder and the "professionals" that you have to rely on cannot get their act together long enough to pretend to care or try to help figure it out. Geisinger is a joke of a hospital and worried strictly about the bottom dollar.
Great staff. They have helped so much getting my sleep apnea under control.
