World class care! Our son was admitted for consistent stomach issues. The team diagnosed the issue and surgery was scheduled the next day. This took place on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. The staff were amazingly empathetic and professional. The hospital had gifts from Santa for our 5 week old son. They found clothes for me in the middle of the night since I was covered in vomit and helped keep our son calm when he couldn't eat for over 12 hours. Kat, Amanda, Mary Kate and company were stellar!

My son was admitted to PICU with ARDS, he was resuscitated at the scene but came into hospital in critical condition. The staff here not only saved his life, they did it with compassion and empathy. They let me join morning round meetings and took any input I had. The nurses and respiratory therapists handled him with kindness and patience. I would love to name them all (and I can) but it would make this post very long. This is the only place I will go for any future needs.

By far the most traumatic experience I have ever had at a hospital. My son is 9 years old- non verbal autism. We went in Monday for some X-rays on his leg because he refused to walk. After being there all day in the ER , they let me know he would need an MRI to take a closer look at everything, but he would need to be put under anesthesia so he would need to be admitted. They explained to me the MRI wouldn’t be until Tuesday morning so I then explained how my son WILL not eat anywhere but home due to his autism. I told them he will not eat any of there food and we need to home so I could feed him and I would return in the morning. After much push back they agreed and told me not to feed him past 12am. The last time my son ate was Monday at 4pm. We returned Tuesday morning for the MRI only to sit and wait in the ER until 330. We then were brought up to his room and we were told that he wouldn’t be having his MRI until sometime on Wednesday. Once again I explained that I need to bring my son home to feed him as it had already been 24 hours since he had anything. They refused to let me leave and feed my son. They threatened to call CPS on me for “ refusing treatment” while they literally let my son sit there starving and thirsty for a full day at this point. I felt that we were held against our will and I couldn’t feed my child. Fast forward to Wednesday… I get told he won’t be having the MRI until 3:30 pm- still with no food or water. They then pushed it even further until 5 and I completely lost it. They got him to MRI by 4 and it turned out it was something they couldn’t really do anything for, all that time of torturing my autistic child for absolutely NO REASON, we didn’t leave until almost 9pm on Wednesday after i basically had to pry the discharge papers out of them. My son had no food or water for over 50 HOURS for a basic MRI. Special needs children should never go through this! No child should go so long without nutrition! It was absolutely disgusting the way we were treating. The only positive I have to say is our nurse Jeanne was an angel and held me when I thought I was going to collapse from the way my child was being treated by the hospital. This is far from over. Changes will need to be made because of this.

My daughter 7 yrs was in the ICU for 3 weeks. The nurses, residents and doctors cared for her around the clock, was attentive, patient in answering our questions, dedicated and all very kind. I can not say enough on how grateful we are for the staff which made her feel comfortable and helping with her recovery. Each day they came by with sensory friendly toys from the children’s family unit, case manager, and music therapy as needed. It’s been over 2 months since her release and she had recovered quickly.

This review is based on a recent sleep study I had done there for my son who is 4 (almost) 5 years old. Our appointment started at 7:30 PM. We had a little trouble finding where we were supposed to go. Luckily, we were assisted by a helpful nurse in the emergency department, and found where we were going. We were greeted in by a nurse named Kathy. She had a cold demeanor. Not the type of personality I would expect in someone guiding a nervous child through an experience such as this. She seemed to ignore the fact that he was already exhausted, and spoke curtly to him about what he could expect to be attached to him during this procedure. Without patience, or compassion. Meh, I can live with that. Speaking frankly doesn't create a negative experience. I'm merely setting the scene. The sleep study was underway. When I had to go to the bathroom beforeI laid down for bed, I went to find Kathy. To let her know I needed to leave the room, as the bathroom was not located in the room where my son was sleeping. She told me with a very condescending attitude that it would be my job to make sure that my son did not disturb the wires and sensors attached to him. That had nothing to do with my request. I was only asking if she could mind him closely for a moment while I used the restroom. And if he woke up and no one was there, he may become panicked. Clearly, she wanted me to know she had no interest in helping me. Let's now fast forward to the morning. I was told the night before that wake-up would be 5:20am. As they would need the room to for other patients who would be coming in. At 5:05 I went out to the hallway to let Kathy know that I was going to begin the process of waking my son up. So that he wouldn't be awoken by the removal of wires and sensors and had time to get his bearings. I walked back into the room, and was followed by Kathy, who I guess determined that, that was not important to her, and she would begin removing the wires anyway. Completely ignoring what I had said. This greatly upset my son, and caused him distress. Now, at the last two adhered sensors, she (once again condescendingly) that she would be leaving the last two (most difficult) sensors for me to do. Because "they were the worst" and I guess $12,000 doesn't pay for the job to be completed by a professional. I kindly asked her to complete the process for us. Now that that's done, I'm reminded that the room will need to be cleaned by the crew and we needed to get our items together. Which I had already begun doing. Kathy entered the room again, 1-2 minutes later, to remind me we needed to leave right away. To which I replied, we're doing the best we can. Once more, Kathy entered the room. This time while we were brushing our teeth and were completely packed, to demand that it was time to leave. I laughed. As if we wanted to stay there one moment longer than we had to. As if rushing us out the door, shortly after the ordeal we had been to, was at the top of the priority list. I understand that laughing in her face was the wrong way to handle it. I had a toothbrush in my mouth, and was literally flabbergasted that she was so insistent. She left the room, only to walk back in moments later. This time, threatening to call security on me and my son if we didn't leave immediately. Security, for a father and his son, who had just paid $12k to have this study done, and were doing their level best to leave as soon as we could. Kathy should overall be ashamed of her bedside manor. Her cold, and cantankerous demeanor made what was already a difficult experience, that much worse. I can't say I would recommend this facility for sleep studies. Aside from the fact that they're one of the only facilities available who won't make you wait 12 month to be seen.
