At some point common sense has to start. How is it that people are expected to heal, with brain injuries when the patient next to you constantly has a tv BLASTING? Has anyone ever thought of the airline setup? A headset? Try spending money where it should go. The rooms are way too small for doubled up patients. Absolutely filthy rooms. Clearly all that money was for the outside glitz. No public bathrooms within walking distance from certain areas, clearly was told that “there’s no money in having bathrooms.” Rooms are constantly loud, way too hot, and overcrowded. When a room is so small there’s only room for folding chairs? Why bother! The nurses work like animals, but the rooms are trash.

Visited site for surgery. Came from out of state. Easy to find and used valet parking. Registration was quick and easy. Moved to first floor for pre-op. Staff was extremely nice and professional. Easy to talk with as they prepped me. Surgery went well and recovery was completed in timely manner with take home instructions. Comfort was secured and questions were answered. Transportation took me to my ride home. Very pleased with nurses and anesthesiologist who were very thorough and friendly. Hospital was clean and good communication proceedures in place. Would recommend hospital as I felt safe and cared for during my proceedure.

When I say this is the best hospital, I truly mean it. It’s the biggest hospital in New Jersey I’ve ever been to, and hands down the best hospital for people like me in the transgender community. I’ve had three surgeons and four procedures here, and I highly recommend it for anyone—whether you’re having a baby, a surgery, or any medical care. From the staff to the nurses, surgeons, and doctors—whether primary care or emergency—they are professional, attentive, and thorough. They even recently built a cancer center, showing their commitment to patient care. My surgeries here include: • Bilateral labia majora vulvaectomy with Dr. Thad Dennehy (Dec 11, 2025), who also performed my total hysterectomy six years ago. • Scar revision by Dr. Edward Lee at UMD. • Top surgery (double incision with free nipple graft) with Dr. Jonathan Keith. Every procedure was handled with excellence—no disappointments, neglect, or complications. I was monitored closely at all times, and the medical students and residents I encountered were guided with the best training and respect. This hospital allowed me to be fully myself, without discrimination, and I encountered kind, open nurses who genuinely listened and cared. My experiences here have all been successful, and I will continue to trust them for my health—and one day, I hope my children will be born here too. This hospital never disappoints, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I was admitted to Cooperman Barnabas Hospital on October 31, 2025, by my primary physician because my white blood cell count was high. The doctors in the Emergency Department ordered a CT scan, which showed that my appendix had leaked into my colon, and I was sent for surgery. The operation was far more complicated than expected. I am, and will always be, eternally grateful to my highly skilled surgeons, Dr. Jalpa Patel and Dr. David Berler, for their expertise and the exceptional care I received — not only during surgery, but also through their daily visits to check on my progress. The care I received throughout my recovery was outstanding. It was incredibly reassuring to have Dr. Patel, Dr. Berler, and the surgical residents visit each day to update me on how I was healing. The nursing staff were attentive to all my medical needs and consistently made sure I was comfortable. They listened with empathy and compassion, and their kindness made a very difficult situation much easier. I am especially grateful to Alexi, Sarah, Prek, and nursing assistant, Tonya Alves They went above and beyond, and I will never forget their warm and reassuring words that helped make my recovery a positive experience. I cannot say enough about the care I received during my stay at Cooperman Barnabas. I will always be grateful to Dr. Jalpa Patel and Dr. David Berler for their incredible skill in performing my surgery and for the compassion they showed during my recovery. I will forever be in their debt. Cooperman Barnabas will always hold a special place in my heart.

Cooperman Barnabas has a special place in my heart because of the care I received during and after my surgery. I am genuinely grateful for Dr. David Berler and the entire surgery and nursing team, including the residents. They were attentive and patient, and they turned what felt like a frightening situation into a reassuring and even pleasant memory. I truly felt like I received wonderful care, and I trusted everyone who walked into my room. They even made me laugh at times. If you have to be admitted to a hospital, Cooperman Barnabas is where you want to be because the staff care and show up to be of service. Michael H. and the nursing staff had excellent bedside manner throughout my stay. I can’t tell you how many times Rita Z. and Angelina G. helped me over the phone after surgery, never once making me feel like I was bothering them. Nechama D. and Dawn C. were also incredibly helpful during my follow-up appointment. Even the general admission receptionist and the security staff who handled parking were exceptional, and I wish I remembered their names. And Dr. Berler, thank you for being an amazing doctor who listens, makes patients feel valued, and treats people with almost a white glove level of care. This is priceless. I wish more people experienced the kind of care I received here at other hospitals.
