A Heartbreaking Experience – Warning to Other Parents with physical therapist Gean Kelecic As a parent of a child with epilepsy and developmental delays, I trusted the physical therapy facility to provide my son with the care and attention he needs. What I witnessed during his session with physical therapist Gean Kelecic was not just negligent—it was devastating. My son cannot walk or stand on his own, and yet during his therapy session, Gean removed his safety belt, knowing full well he is unable to support himself. In the blink of an eye, he fell and hit the back of his head. I watched my child fall to the floor, and instead of immediate concern, Gean dismissed it with a cold, “That’s okay, buddy,” as if the incident meant nothing. I was horrified, but it wasn’t just the fall—it was the lack of any acknowledgment of what had just happened. No apology. No check on my son. No care. Gean was more focused on rushing through the session, constantly reminding us that we only had 45 minutes left. It felt like she couldn’t wait to get rid of us. As a result, she pushed my son’s walker with force, disregarding his safety and well-being. She showed no sensitivity to his condition, and I felt completely powerless to protect him in that moment. Afterward, I reached out to the supervisor, and they admitted that Gean has not been properly trained on how to use essential equipment, including the walker. This was not an accident—it was negligence. My son’s injury could have been avoided if proper care had been taken. The supervisor even had the audacity to tell me that the security cameras no longer work, citing renovations from years ago as the reason. It felt like an excuse to cover up the lack of accountability and safety in the facility. Since that day, my son has been crying more than usual, withdrawn, and far less active than he ever was. As a parent, watching your child suffer without knowing the full extent of their pain is beyond heartbreaking. I have an MRI scheduled soon to check for any lasting damage, and every day since that fall has been filled with worry, sadness, and regret. I will never forgive myself for not being able to prevent this from happening—and I will never forgive Gean Kelecic for her complete disregard for my son's safety and well-being. No parent should ever have to worry about their child being hurt in a place that’s supposed to help them. I urge other parents to avoid Gean Kelecic at all costs. Do not trust her with your child. She should not be working with any child, especially one with special needs. I also urge you to watch every moment of your child’s therapy sessions—don’t trust the facility’s cameras or anyone’s word when it comes to your child’s safety. Always observe, always ask questions, and never let negligence slip by unnoticed. I hope no other family has to go through the pain we’ve endured. Please, learn from my experience—protect your children at all costs.

We see my son's neurologist and endocrinologist here. It's much more convenient for us than driving to St. Paul. So far, he has received really great care at Gillette. The providers are very thorough and make sure all your questions are answered..it doesn't feel rushed.

We had a wonderful visit today with Amy Jo Beebe. There was very little wait time, she was pleasant and engaging with my child and me and clearly explained our issues and options. We wound up getting x-rays and they were incredibly quick with those as well. Would highly recommend.

The people at Gillette Childrens are so pleasant. It's not like a normal doctor's office. You feel like family when you end up leaving. The other parents in here share their story and the kids play so well together
