I was assured they had spoken with my insurance company and they had confirmed that my sleep study was covered by insurance. I went in for the sleep study and then I received a denial of coverage notice for a $10,000 bill for a single-night sleep study at their facility. There are major surgeries that cost less than this. I called them to ask about this an no one returned my call. I am still trying to get this settled.
Before doing the sleep study I asked if it would be easier and cheaper just do it it at home. I was reassured that it was covered by my insurance only to find out that I get a bill for over $2000 because this counts as a hospital visit. It's not right. I have doctor's visits at hospitals and they are not billed as hospital visits. I was going to the sleep center which which so happens to be located at the hospital. There are plenty of sleep labs not located in a hospital I wish I went to one of those instead.
