12/26/2025- I am writing this review at the request of my 38 y/o daughter who is on her way being transferred to a bigger hospital. She had surgery on her right knee 1 week and 1 day ago. This morning she woke up suddenly feeling very ill. She called for an ambulance and was taken directly to AO Fox Hosp. She has been in the ER the entire day almost 8 hrs. She was treated WONDERFULLY, kept informed, had multiple tests and was moved to different sections on the dept. Each employee treated her with kindness and respect and kept her well informed. She would especially like to give a shout out to: Dr. Pepper, RN (travel) Larissa, and ER tech Jericca. They took wonderful care of her and made her feel very cared about. No one who has to go to an ER should be looking to be treated as if they are the only one there. It's a very tough environment and I can assure people that the life and death decisions are heart breaking. My family and I HIGHLY recommend the AO Fox Hosp Emergency room !

I'd like to give a shout out and big thank-you to Maggie in radiology at AO Fox Oneonta for sorting out a coding mess that nearly prevented me from being able to have a follow up ultrasound after breast cancer and surgery for same in 2021. Last March I had an ultrasound booked at AOFOX Oneonta as a follow up for breast cancer that was discovered on a mammogram at same location in 2021 and for which I had major surgery in Kingston. My PA at the Cobleskill Bassett clinic had put the code in wrong and I was told it would cost $1900 and that medicare wouldn't cover it. Thankfully, though it took MUCH patience Maggie got the code issue sorted out and then assigned me to tech Cassie who was by far and away the best US technician (read efficient, professional and did not cause pain the way previous ones elsewhere sometimes had done). It took an hour to resolve the billing issue and much patience on the part of Maggie who resolved not to take her lunch break until I was sorted out. It was an emotional time of course as cancer victims know - the follow ups - and Maggie and Cassie were both wonderfully empathetic and saw me through it all. THANK-YOU.

I came around midnight and a doctor shamed me for not being able to see a dentist. He assumed I wasn’t trying to even though I’ve called the place. They won’t make any more time for me that’s reasonable other than five months from now so I got a referral and I’m now trying to see what surgeon or what places that’s for because it’s not specific. Usually, I don’t even have access to reliable transportation and it’s very hard to find a place in this area that accepts my insurance and new patients. I am a full-time college student and I have two part-time jobs. I’m trying the best I can to get the situation under control. It’s difficult. I keep getting reinfected in between that. I already feel bad about myself and the situation for not being able to resolve it. Never judge somebody until you know their situation.

I would like to start on a positive note. Everyone there everyone there was kind and cooperative and listening and appeared to be caring. However when it came to actual care there was hardly any there. Numerous staff apologized to me for how long it was taking to treat me. I came in with minor symptoms compared to other people so I accepted it. However after 6 hours of being in the emergency room and no one even taking the urine off of my table to check my urine or put an IV in me to rehydrate me because I as a nurse personally know that you will check the urine and blood before you do anything else. They never checked my urine they did put a port in me to draw blood and in case they have to hook me up to an IV however they never rehydrated me so the whole time I was there I got no treatment except I did get a CAT scan and even that I should have been put on an IV to help flush out the chemicals from that procedure. I was told when I got home to drink lots of water to help flush out the chemicals but in my opinion my professional opinion I should have been put on IV as a matter of fact a few more people should have been on some sort of hydration of some sort but they did not even offer me a glass of water. I ended up pulling out the port myself and walking out. The staff was wonderfully nice and kind they had an excellent bedside manner however that does not mean you're going to get excellent treatment.
